DESCRIPTION:Khoury & Vogt Architects (KVA) was formed in 2001 in Miami by
Erik Vogt and Marieanne Khoury as a practice in architecture\, urban desig
n\, and town planning. Erik received his Bachelor of Architecture from the
University of Miami and Master of Architecture from Yale University. Mari
eanne received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin
(after studying for 3 years at L’Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Pa
ris\, France) and has a Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Plannin
g from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Both are licensed archite
cts working throughout the country. The practice\, currently based in Alys
  Beach\, Florida\, engages projects in a variety of scales\, programs\, an
d locales. Each is strongly rooted in enduring types and forms that have d
eveloped over time to serve both the individual inhabitant at the scale of
the building and shape the individual building at the scale of the city.
\n\nThis grounding in typological tradition allows for an exploration of a
rchitectural character and language that\, while deploying the principles
of classical composition\, offers a synthesis of modern and vernacular sty
les\, often inflected by the influence of the tropics and Mediterranean. I
n all cases\, the work strives to partake in equal parts both tradition an
d invention and to instill in the inhabitant a sense of comfort and deligh
 t. Their work has received numerous awards and accolades\, and their work
has been extensively published. In 2023\, they were awarded the prestigiou
s annual Arthur Ross Award for their body of work by the ICAA (The Institu
te of Classical Architecture and Art) that recognizes excellence in the cl
assical tradition\, and in 2024\, Marieanne was awarded the annual 2024 Ba
rranco Award by the Urban Guild for her work as Town Architect in Alys Bea
ch. \nFernando Wong has been called “one of the best landscape designers
in the world” by the Chelsea Design Centre in London\, “one of the mo
st influential landscape designers in America” by Elle Décor\, “a gen
ius with the soul of a poet” by Garden Design Magazine\, a “landscape
legend” by Forbes\, and “the creative mind behind Miami’s lushest la
ndscapes” by Architectural Digest. His television series\, Clipped with
Martha Stewart\, can be streamed on HGTV and Discovery+\, and his work has
been featured on The Today Show as well as in leading design publications
worldwide. His book The Young Man and the Tree from Vendome was published
in 2025. \nTim Johnson is the CEO of Fernando Wong Outdoor Living Design\
, an award-winning boutique landscape architecture firm he founded with Fe
