 -winning photography career. The exhibition features striking images of ra
 il systems across the country\, from the iconic BNSF “GoldenSwoosh” to
  Union Pacific trains traveling through breathtaking landscapes. \n\n\n\nS
 pecial event \n\n\n\nGuests are invited to explore “One-Track Mind\,”

 CAP Gallery centers on a recording she discovered on a doorbell security c
 amera. In the short black-and-white video\, the artist’s father is seen 
 removing helium balloons from the trunk of a car. As he wrangles the infla
 tables – a gift for the artist’s mother – a single heart-shaped ball
 oon floats away without his notice\, prompting a bewildered search of the 
 vehicle. Upon reviewing the footage\, Barnette recognized that an easily o
 verlooked episode had many stories to tell about gestures of affection\, a
 bout bearing witness to everyday life\, and about the transformation of a 
 fleeting moment into the stuff of family lore.

 e complexities of closeness — emotional\, physical\, and spatial — rev
 ealing vulnerabilities surrounding familial and personal relationships and
  public and private life. Cromwell’s work often engages the American lan
 dscape as both subject and witness\, while Cox’s photographs move betwee
 n documentary and dreamlike observation\, tracing emotional and environmen
 tal transformation. Together\, they create a layered meditation on intimac
 y\, perception\, and the ways we locate ourselves within a changing world.

DESCRIPTION:“Colecciones de Estudio de Invierno” brings together new a
 nd recent work by Omaha sculptor and glass artist Therman Statom\, one of 
 the defining figures of the contemporary glass movement. The title points 
 to the nature of the work itself: Pieces that emerged from sustained studi
 o practice\, gathered here as a kind of personal inventory\, objects that 
 carry the accumulation of a long creative life. The exhibition runs throug
 h Sept. 26. Note: The museum closes one hour early on Sundays at 6 p.m. \n
 \n\n\nStatom works by cutting\, painting\, and assembling sheets of plate 
 glass\, gluing them together into large-scale sculptural forms—chairs\, 
 ladders\, houses\, wall-mounted constructions—and sandblasting their sur
 faces into canvases for color and line. Found objects enter the work along
  the way\, adding texture and narrative. The resulting pieces are at once 
 structural and painterly\, drawing from the gestural energy of Abstract Ex
 pressionism and the economy of Minimalism without settling comfortably int
 o either tradition.
