 an island filled with talking creatures and imminent danger. Now the broth
 ers have to hold on to hope and courage in order to find one another\, and
  escape the island of Terikiak. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the Local Authors\n
 \n\n\n\nChris Beaty is an author from Omaha\, Nebraska. In December 2025\,
  he self-published a humorous\, coming-of-age memoir titled Loser*: A Surv
 ival Guide to High School Popularity based on his awkward teenage years an
 d the struggle to fit in. The memoir  won the 2026 IndieReader Discovery 
 Award for Best Nonfiction Humor\, and received positive reviews from Kirku
 s\, BookLife\, and IndieReader. Kirkus Reviews gave the title a “Get It!
 ” designation\, Booklife called it a “piercing memoir on insecurity\,
 ” and Indie Reader said that “Beaty creates a sense of connection for 
 readers who may see their own struggles and growth…” Beaty maintains a
  weekly By C.S. Beaty Substack that consists of essays\, book reviews\, po
 dcast interviews\, and video content. He has master degrees from the Unive
 rsity of Nebraska and Creighton University\, is a licensed Professional Ar
 chitectural Engineer\, has been published in the Journal of Architectural 
 Engineering\, and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska-Om
 aha. He lives with his wife\, three children\, and a collection of functi
