DESCRIPTION:Pack your lunch\, enjoy a picnic in our garden\, and watch ple
in air artists at work as our city welcomes 25 nationally recognized artis
ts for the Heartland Plein Air Festival. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEtiquette \n\
n\n\nTalking to the artists is encouraged — it’s part of what makes pl
ein air festivals different from a traditional gallery show. Most painters
are happy to answer questions about what they’re working on\, what they
’re looking at\, and how they’re reading the light. \n\n\n\nA few thin
gs to keep in mind: give them a bit of space while they’re actively pain
ting\, since shadows and position can matter. Wait for a natural pause if
they seem deep in concentration. But don’t be shy — the artists are ou
t in public by choice\, and most of them genuinely enjoy the conversation.

DESCRIPTION:Common Senses is excited to invite UNO students to our immersi
ve exhibit at KANEKO on Friday\, September 18th. Presented by The Holland
Foundation\, The Sensory Yard invites visitors into a world where curiosit
y\, movement\, rest\, and imagination unfold at their own pace. Blending s
ensory architecture\, participatory art\, and immersive storytelling\, thi
s interactive installation encourages exploration without expectation. Eve
ry path is self-directed\, every experience optional\, creating an environ
ment where wonder and nervous system regulation exist side by side.\n\n \n

offering a unique invitation to engage. Find grounding in The Commons\, mo
ve freely in The Motion Room\, wander through the responsive beauty of The
Light Forest\, retreat into the quiet comfort of The Cocoon\, dive into i
maginative worlds in the Aquarium\, and leave your mark in The Workshop Ro
om\, where the environment evolves through collective creativity.\n\n \n\n
Rather than asking visitors to perform or observe\, The Sensory Yard offer
 s permission—to pause\, play\, create\, connect\, or simply be. Designed
with accessibility\, emotional safety\, and sensory inclusion at its core
\, the installation celebrates the many ways people experience the world a
nd invites every visitor to discover what they need in the moment. If you
