DESCRIPTION:Join the Alameda Architectural Preservation Society on the 202
6 Alameda Legacy Home Tour! Support preservation and spend the day on a lo
vely island visiting the interiors of seven unique historic homes built fr
om 1925 to 1936\, an era in which “Storybook” homes influenced by tren
ds in Hollywood were all the rage.  The homes are all within walking dist
ance of each other in Alameda’s iconic Fernside neighborhood. Built larg
ely on the former site of prominent historical figure A.A. Cohen’s magni
ficent Fernside estate\, it features a unique concentration of homes that
romanticized architectural styles borrowed from Medieval\, Spanish Colonia
 l\, and American Colonial periods.
