a\, one of our longest-tenured teammates and an integral part of Oakland U
nited Beerworks for many\, many years. Chelsea and Daisy have shared a pre
tty special life together\, and we’re honored to shine a spotlight on a
doggo who means so much to someone who means so much to all of us.Here’s
  Daisy’s story\, in Chelsea’s own words. \n \n \n \n
 		\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Daisy came into m
y life unexpectedly in 2020\, when a family friend entrusted her to me. Sh
e was my first dog and showed up at exactly the right moment. She has been
my shadow ever since. Now 12 years old\, Daisy is a blue nose pit bull w
ho has settled very comfortably into her senior years. In her younger days
\, she was always ready for an adventure- running\, playing\, exploring\,
and swimming in just about any body of water we could find. These days\, s
he’s traded most of that excitement for the simpler pleasures in life. H
er ideal afternoon is spent napping in her favorite sunny spot on the back
porch or curled up in her designated place on the couch. Preferably with
one of there favorite people close by. Daisy’s personality is truly one
of a kind. She loves her people deeply and is fiercely devoted to her inn
er circle. When it comes to other animals she has just a handful of carefu
lly chosen dog friends and one cat in her life who regularly bullies her\,
a situation Daisy seems to have reluctantly accepted. She’s also extre
mely expressive. Daisy communicates primarily through an impressive assort
ment of grunts that make her sound more like a little piglet than a dog. W
hen she falls asleep\, those grunts give way to snores loud enough to comp
ete with anyone else in the house. But\, Daisy doesn’t really need to m
ake a sound to tell you how she feels. She has mastered the art of communi
cating entire thoughts with a single look. Beyond the classic pit bull sid
e-eye\, she has perfected a puppy-dog pout that makes it nearly impossible
to tell her no. Whether she’s mildly annoyed\, deeply disappointed in y
ou\, hoping for a snack\, or simply wondering why you’ve disturbed her n
 ap\, you will know. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

years\, Daisy has had plenty of adventures\, countless naps\, more than a
few sunny afternoons\, and\, most importantly\, a whole lot of love. She
may move a little slower these days\, and her running and swimming adventu
res may be mostly behind her\, but the things that make Daisy happiest hav
e always been pretty simple: give her a comfortable place to nap\, a warm
spot in the sun\, and her favorite people nearby\, and Daisy has everythin
 g she needs. 						\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Manna Gallery is pleased to present Are you with me NOW?\, a s
olo exhibition by Jeanne Lorenz\, featuring new abstract paintings that em
erge from an expansive daily drawing practice. Guided by the belief that a
rt can metabolize the emotional and ecological turbulence of our time\, Lo
renz transforms accumulated gestures into luminous vertical paintings that
balance vulnerability with resilience. She embraces painting as an act of
participation rather than escape\, one that holds grief\, humor\, light\,
and hope in dynamic tension. Lorenz invites viewers into a contemplative
space where attention itself becomes a form of repair\, and where abstract
ion offers a language for imagining what might grow from uncertainty. \nAu

DESCRIPTION:SLATE is pleased to present Hannah Franco: Poiesis\, a solo ex
hibition of new paintings by abstract artist Hannah Franco. Featuring ten
new paintings\, Hannah Franco brings her once-hidden washes of color forwa
rd as the true subject of the work\, revealing a self that had long lived
quietly beneath the surface. Honoring the power of softness and vulnerabil
ity\, Franco pays tribute to the often invisible and systemically underval
ued domestic labor and love women have long contributed to their communiti
es. \nFranco earned a BFA from Pratt Institute in New York City and studie

DESCRIPTION:What is COSELL?\n\nIn the mid 2000s\, three workplace law prof
essors Joe Slater\, Scott Moss\, and Paul Secunda developed the idea of ha
ving an informal meeting to workshop ideas for research in the areas of em
ployment and labor law. They ended up naming their initiative the Colloqui
um on Scholarship in Employment and Labor Law\, COSELL.\n\nSince 2006\,
COSELL has brought together dozens of scholars each year to present\, hea
r\, and provide feedback on research and scholarship in labor law\, employ
ment law\, and related areas\, such as litigation or ADR. COSELL embraces
a range of methodologies and theoretical approaches including critical leg
al studies and empirical approaches (among others). The conference has bee
n held in law schools across the country\, from UCLA to Northwestern to Se
ton Hall Law. \nCOSELL aims to be open to all: there is no charge to atten
d\; it rotates among schools that volunteer to host and sponsor\; and pres
entations can be made by not only professors\, but also practitioners and
aspiring professors and scholars. \nCOSELL is where the recipients are ann
ounced for two awards: the Paul Steven Miller Award to a senior scholar wh
o has shown outstanding academic and public contributions to the field of
labor and employment scholarship\, and the Michael J. Zimmer Award to a ri
sing scholar who values workplace justice and community\, and who has made
significant contributions to the field of labor and employment law schola
rship. \nCOSELL is an informal organization supported by the COSELL Legacy

DESCRIPTION:25 min \nAges 6 and up\, Adults \nThe Sun has shone on our wor
ld for four and a half billion years. The light that warms our skin today
has been felt by every person who has ever lived. It is our nearest star a
nd our planet’s powerhouse\, the source of the energy that drives our wi
nds\, our weather and all life.  \nThe passage of the Sun’s fiery disc
across the sky — day by day\, month by month — was the only way to kee
p track of time for countless past civilizations. Don’t be fooled by the
terminology\; although it is a typical dwarf star\, the Sun consumes 600
million tons of hydrogen each second and is 500 times as massive as all th
e planets combined.  \nDiscover the secrets of our star in this planetari
um show and experience never-before-seen images of the Sun’s violent sur
face in immersive fulldome format. Our team has worked with some of the mo
st talented planetarium producers to bring you this visually striking plan
etarium show about the most important star in our lives.

DESCRIPTION:Our terrific law librarians will be offering two workshops to
help LL.M. students learn more about legal research. Berkeley Law research
librarians are experts in legal research\, holding a J.D. as well as a Ma

DESCRIPTION:Let’s start with exactly what booster drafting is. Drafting
is a form of limited MTG where players take turns selecting cards from bo
oster packs in order to build a deck on-the-fly.In many ways\, it is a ver
y “pure” form of Magic because it allows you to rely heavily on your s
kills and knowledge\, plus a bit of luck. There’s no room for expensive
decks or planning beforehand\, and the mere thrill of opening new boosters
to make a deck from scratch makes drafting a very exciting and rewarding
way to play MTG.A booster draft is traditionally played in 8-player groups
called “pods.”Each player receives three booster packs\, usually f
rom the same set.You open the first pack\, pick a card\, and then pass the
pack to the next player.Take the pack from the player passing one to you\
, pick a card\, and do it again.Rinse and repeat until everyone has opened
three packs and you have a card pool which you'll use to build a 40-card
minimum deck.Drafting is a unique way to experience Magic and is significa
ntly different from Constructed. In any Constructed format\, you already k
now which cards you’ll play with and can easily engage in theory-craftin
