DESCRIPTION:You have probably heard the term Latinx—but where did it com
e from\, why does it generate such strong reactions\, and who gets to deci
de how communities are identified? \nJoin us for an engaging and accessibl
e conversation about the history\, politics\, and everyday use of pan-ethn
ic identities within Latinidad. The discussion will explore terms such as
Hispanic\, Latino/a\, Latinx\, and Latine\, including the importance of ge
nder-neutral and gender-inclusive language. \nWhether you embrace these te
rms\, question them\, or are still deciding what they mean to you\, this e
vent invites you to bring your questions\, perspectives\, and curiosity. T
ogether\, we will examine why language matters and how the words we choose
can foster greater equity\, respect\, and belonging. \nSee the schedule f

DESCRIPTION:In-Person and Online: Cultivating Radical Compassion for Self
and Other in the Age of AI \nSession 3 of the Beyond Therapy – Buddhism
and Psychology series \nwith Sará King \nTuesday\, September 22nd\, 2026
 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET \nIn-Person Location: New York Insight at 115 West
29th Street\, 12th Floor \n\nSo much of the current public conversation ab
out AI is dominated by discourse foregrounding fear\, hopelessness\, anxie
ty\, and dystopian visions of control\, violence\, surveillance\, and self
-annihilation. And yet another thread asserts the possibility of techno-ut
opia\; a world where poverty is eliminated\, chronic disease is cured\, an
d humans are freed from the burden of labor to pursue an endless fountain
of creativity and flourishing. \nBetween these two poles\, something quie
ter and perhaps more important is stirring: the very meaning of what it is
to be human\, what sentience is\, what consciousness is\, and what we owe
to one another — these have become fertile grounds for questioning real
ity and existence in ways that feel genuinely unprecedented. \nThis groun
dlessness\, if we are not resourced to meet it\, can amplify suffering and
diminish our capacity to show up for this moment with the presence and ca
re it deserves. \nMore than ever\, we need heart-centered practices that h
 elp us cultivate compassion\, empathy\, and loving-kindness — not only f
or ourselves\, and not only for other humans\, but radically extended to i
nclude the emerging forms of awareness arising alongside us in this techno
logical revolution. \nIn this talk\, Dr. Sará King\, neuroscientist\, me
dical anthropologist\, contemplative practitioner and teacher will explore
suffering through the interwoven lenses of Buddhist psychology and neuros
cience\, illuminating how ancient contemplative wisdom and modern science
are converging on questions that AI is now making urgently alive. \nToget
her we will practice the skills of compassion for self and other\, includi
ng the possibility that “other” may one day encompass AI itself\, and
engage mindfully with what it means to walk the Eightfold Path with integr
ity\, gentleness\, and radical openness in this extraordinary moment in hu
man history. \nThis is the third installment in our Beyond Therapy – Bud
dhism and Psychology series. Over four Tuesday evenings\, Pilar Jennings\,
Paul Fulton\, Sará King\, and Mark Epstein will explore the possibilitie
s\, tensions\, and challenges that arise when Buddhism and psychology meet
. Learn more and register for other sessions (or the whole series) here. \

DESCRIPTION:A Free Popular Class. \nTour of the Fall Sky (2026)\nTuesday\
, Sept. 22\, 7-9 PM online\nCelebrate the Fall Equinox with us.  At that
