 rector\, choreographer\, & teacher\, FAY SIMPSON\, Head of Movement at NYU
 ’s Graduate Acting Program. \nIn this workshop she will explain and demo
 nstrate her unique system she calls The Lucid Body: a pyscho-physical proc
 ess based on the belief that self-knowledge is the most important ingredie
 nt to your acting. This holistic training offers the actor a way to embody

 is a complete Basics course consisting of both Basics Level 1 & 2. \nThrou
 gh a rigorous yoga-based warm-up and a thorough exploration of the seven c
 hakra energy centers\, this class will offer a new path into discovering t
 he emotional/physical blocks that inhibit a full emotional range of expres
 sion. We will work with audible exhale as a means to integrate the sensiti
 vities of the body experience to the outside world. The paradigms of perso
 na\, shadow and archetype will be explored in our understanding of the psy
 chophysical complexities of self and character. \nLucid Body Basics will o
 ffer you practical tools for auditions\, rehearsals\, performance\, and li
 fe. \nObjectives:\n-Initiate postural re-alignment\n-Gain a new practical 
 physical language from which to create the body of the character\n-Develop
  a way of seeing that allows for a deeper understanding of the human being
  \nLevel 1 Basics\nThe first half of Basics focuses on alignment and learn
 ing the chakra energy centers as tools to step beyond the comfort zone. Ex
 ercises will be focused on transforming the habitual body into new parts o
 f self. \nLevel 2 Basics\nThe second half of Basics will work with the lar
 ger energies of the archetypes\, the active space between two people as an
  intro to the later scene work\, and will end with an exploration of the s
 hadow. This work can be thrilling\, though challenging.
