 ring Ma Rainey’s extraordinary life\, groundbreaking career\, and the ma
 king of this landmark release. The recordings have been meticulously resto
 red by acclaimed audio engineer Doug Benson\, bringing new life to Rainey
 ’s complete Paramount recordings for a new generation of listeners. \nTh

DESCRIPTION:When drafting a poem\, how do we know where to end a line of p
 oetry or begin a new one? At times\, it can feel like guesswork (or just v
 ibes). But within a poem\, each line is a new opportunity to create a dist
 inct unit of meaning within the larger sentence and poem. In this class we
  will study a variety of fixed and free verse poems to explore different s
 trategies for shaping our poetic lines. We will also read short excerpts f
 rom James Longenbach’s The Art of the Poetic Line to ground our discussi
 on. Finally\, we will try revising our own poems to practice what we have 
 studied. \n\nRemote 2-Hour Craft Session | Saturday | September 19 | 11:30
 am-1:30pm ET | $60 ($55 for Members)  \nThis remote class will take pla
 ce on Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to you by a staff member in the

 , in a family of Jewish refugees from Europe. In 1969 she moved to the Uni

 g Line Press. \nMervyn Taylor’s poems join experiences of his native Tri
 nidad with those of having lived for many years in Brooklyn. He has taught
  in the NYC public school system and at The New School. Currently\, he ser
 ves as editor with Slapering Hol Press\, Hudson Valley\, New York. Unpaint
 ed Houses is his tenth full-length collection of poetry. \nGerald Wagoner 
 is the author of When Nothing Wild Remains & A Month of Someday. His child
 hood was divided between Eastern Oregon and Montana where he was raised un
 der the doctrine of benign neglect. He has a BA in Creative Writing from t
 he University of Montana and an MFA in sculpture from SUNY Albany. \nMount
 ain Climbing a River is Michael T. Young’s fourth collection. His third 
 full-length collection\, The Infinite Doctrine of Water\, was longlisted f
 or the Julie Suk Award. He received a Fellowship from the New Jersey State

 r work experience placed him on the path to his current role as co-creator
  of CRANIACS\, his most ambitious endeavor yet.  \nIra first developed an
  appreciation for fandom and collecting decades ago as assistant publisher
  of Starlog\, the science-fiction media magazine\, and Fangoria\, the long
 -standing horror publication. This experience set the stage for an opportu
 nity to work for George Lucas\, where he served as an active member of the
  Star Wars consumer products team. Ira later set off on his own\, forming 
 a company that published official movie magazines and developed fan clubs 
 for film properties including Blade Runner\, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial\, 
 and other fan-focused films. He subsequently joined Topps\, the trading ca
 rd company\, where he spent more than 30 years as VP of Publishing\, Licen
 sing and New Product Development. At Topps\, Ira managed pop culture brand
 s including Star Wars\, Batman among many other entertainment properties. 
 He also oversaw the company’s portfolio of original IP\, including Garba
 ge Pail Kids. It was during his tenure as architect of the “GPK” licen
 sing program that Ira began collaborating with artist Joe Simko. Years lat
 er\, Joe and Ira decided to strike out on their own to form a dedicated cr
 eative partnership. CRANIACS is the initial result of their shared desire

 tensive compilation of Sámi narratives recorded from Sámi storytellers e

 nd legends from Northern Norway\, including many from the coastal Sámi an
 d the Skolt Sámi of Eastern Finnmark\, this volume illuminates an oral st
 orytelling tradition and shares narratives told by fishers\, farmers\, rei

  through the wilderness to find treasure\, receiving help from a wise fema
 le elder along his path. A Sámi boy falls in love with a háldi girl from
  another world\, and they find a way to marry. A man carries sickness out 
 of a village and stops the plague from spreading. Cunning foxes outsmart b
 ears and humans alike. The villainous Chudes are tricked\, foiled in their
  plans to steal from and kill the Sámi. People are turned into wolves\, a
 ble to turn back only if they don’t taste the blood of a reindeer or if 
 they are given cooked food. The ogre Stállu appears again and again\, ter
 rorizing the community until he’s outwitted or subdued. Rávgas\, undead
  creatures of the sea\, drag themselves out of the depths to lure others t
