f farmers\, was born in the Horn of Africa in 1984. biseat’s work interr
ogates and illuminates the journey of a reluctant refugee. Climate change\
, migration\, improvisational black art forms\, and resilience through div
ersity have inspired biseat’s growth as an artist. biseat was raised in
central California\, an agriculturally important but socially overlooked r
egion of the Golden State. There\, the mentorship of a ceramics instructor
and admiration for the photo lab at their high school sparked biseat’s
imagination. After a twenty-year hiatus from artistic exploration\, biseat
reconnected with their love for clay\, photography\, and mixed media thro
ugh a change in perspective and environment. \nAbout Art Thrives: Creative

E CITY\, UT — The United States Association for Small Business and Entre
preneurship (USASBE) announced the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Educatio
n Award recipients during USASBE 2026 held in Salt Lake City\, Utah in Feb
ruary. \n“Not only does USASBE celebrate innovations and achievements in
entrepreneurship education\, we also showcase best practices that can be
replicated at universities around the globe. The USASBE Program Awards all
ow us to accomplish both simultaneously.” said USASBE Board Chair\, Dr.
Sara Cochran\, Clinical Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Kel
ley School of Business at Indiana University. \nAs USASBE’s top program
honors\, the USASBE Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Awards recogn
ize bold and innovative programs making an impact in the field of entrepre
neurship education. The Model Programs (large and small institutions) and
Model Emerging and Re-Emerging Program Awards honor colleges and universit
ies with comprehensive\, high-quality educational programs that successful
ly train future generations of entrepreneurs. The Excellence in Pedagogica
l Innovation and Excellence in Co-Curricular Innovation Awards recognize i
nstitutions with creative\, high-quality\, sustainable\, and impactful cou
rses and co-curricular programs in entrepreneurship education. The Model U
niversity Accelerator/Incubator and Model Community Accelerator/Incubator
Awards recognize collegiate and community programs that help young entrepr
eneurs develop their ideas into viable and even scalable businesses. \n“
These decisions are definitely not easy to make when considering the high
quality applications that we receive each year\,” said Dr. Krystal Geyer
\, 2026 Awards Chair. “The award review panels heavily debate the merits
of each program during the process and the decision as to which program
’s name goes on the plaque often comes down to the smallest of details.
The difficulty in making these decisions is a testament to the incredible
work our colleagues across the nation and world are doing.” \nRecipients
