DESCRIPTION:Virtual Workshop – Live/OnlineFee: $50 for MCN members / $70
for nonmembers \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n\nIt sounds easier to go
after that One Big Grant to get the resources for your mission\, but inst
itutional givers can change priorities and sometimes require a lot of prog
ram restrictions. Individual donors rarely restrict gifts\, and recurring
donors can be the gift that keeps giving! \n\n\n\nJoin Steve Boland\, dire
ctor of Next in Nonprofits\, to learn about starting your work in individu
al donor support. The session will cover: \n\n\n\n\nInitial list building
 – who are you going to ask for support?\n\n\n\nMoving people up the enga
gement ladder from curious to supporter to donor\n\n\n\nUsing peer-support
to grow your donor base\n\n\n\nCreating a process for donor stewardship\,
including automation and online tools as appropriate\n\n\n\nBuilding a ca
lendar of campaigns for the year (wait – what’s a campaign?)\n\n\n\n\n
Participants will leave the session with an overview of options to build r
egular\, unrestricted giving for your mission work. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent

ast time for you all to do your own work!” – Lynette Stallworth \n\n\n
\nThose of us who are white must do our own work around racism and anti-ra
cism. This work is required to truthfully embody an anti-racist identity a
nd interrupt racism where we live and work. This cohort-based 3-part train
ing will bring together leaders who are ready for a deep dive into their o
wn personal anti-racism ideals as well as how they are combating racism in
their work/community spaces. \n\n\n\nThe main learnings and actions will
be around the ideas of decolonization\, intentional allyship\, systems cha

 ate in-depth reflection\, dialogue\, and relationship building. \n\n\n\nTh

ting topics. She’s completely inclusive and listens intently.”\n\n\n\n
“I found all of it valuable. I loved interacting with the group and Nata
lie did a great job making sure everyone was involved and their opinions w

alie started an anti-racism/pro-love nonprofit and now works for an educat
ion Foundation creating access and opportunity for students. She loves bei

a white person\, my anti-racism allyship is an important part of the move

DESCRIPTION:Presented by Yidong Zhou\nAssistant Professor\nSchool of Stati
stics\nUniversity of Minnesota \nAdjusting for confounding and imbalance w
hen establishing statistical relationships is an increasingly important ta
sk\, and causal inference methods have emerged as the most popular tool to
achieve this. Existing methodology has been developed primarily for outco
mes that lie in Euclidean spaces. We introduce here a general framework fo
r causal inference when outcomes reside in general geodesic metric spaces\
, where we draw on a novel geodesic calculus that facilitates scalar multi
plication for geodesics and the quantification of treatment effects throug
h the concept of geodesic average treatment effect. Using ideas from Fréc
het regression\, we obtain a doubly robust estimation of the geodesic aver
age treatment effect and results on consistency and rates of convergence f
or the proposed estimators. We also develop an intrinsic uncertainty quant
ification framework for the treatment effect based on Fréchet objective f
unctions. The proposed framework is illustrated through simulations and re
al data applications\, including network-valued outcomes from New York Cit
y taxi trips to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic\, and compositi
onal data on U.S. state-level energy sources to study the effect of coal m
ining. \nA seminar tea will be held at 2:45 p.m. in University Office Plaz
a\, Room 240. All are Welcome.
