DESCRIPTION:Deepen your relationship with the natural world during a guide
d Forest Bathing Walk near the Lake Michigan shoreline. Participants wil
l slowly travel through the forest while receiving a sequence of spoken in
vitations. These open-ended prompts encourage the participants’ senses t
o open and experience the environment in a way that supports their well-be
ing and the well-being of the forest around them. Forest Therapy provides
a pathway for people to immerse themselves in nature to rest and relax\, a
ll while deepening connections. We will end each walk with reflection\, gr
atitude\, and a custom-blended tea brewed with local plants. \nThis progra
m is led by Environmental Educator Aubrey Fulsaas\, a Certified Forest The
rapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. She first
developed the Forest Bathing curriculum at Schlitz Audubon and has been
leading walks since 2018. \nThis program will take place entirely outdoor

Ride & Celebration! FREE\, Family-friendly ~10 mile bike ride and celebrat
ion!\n\nWhen word got out that Chris Kegel was terminally sick\, his inner
circle got together immediately. How could we quickly rally the forces to
honor this amazing human and show him how much of a positive impact his l
ife’s work had made on the community? The only thing that made sense\, w
as to bring everyone together for Chris’ favorite thing- a bike ride.\n\
nThe slogan the first year was\, “The More the Merrier”. Within a week
of planning and getting the word out- a thousand people got together for
the first annual Chris’ Slow Roll in 2016. Although he wasn’t able to
ride\, the party at Kegel’s Inn was an opportunity for Chris to see how
many people he had touched. Every year since then\, we have come together
at the end of August to celebrate and commemorate how bikes can be the com
mon thread in our lives.\n\nFrom it’s inception\, the Slow Roll was desi
gned to be easily accessible\, free\, and a family friendly ride for all k
inds of riders. All people are welcome!
