DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring evening with world-renowned metalsmit
 h\, Sarah Perkins. \n\n\n\nIn this exclusive artist talk\, Perkins will sh
 are insights into her distinguished career and the highs and lows of build
 ing the Metal Museum’s new home in Overton Park. \n\n\n\nSarah Perkins r
 eceived her BA in Art and German at San Diego State University and her MFA
  in metals at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She is Professor Em
 erita at Missouri State University where she taught from 1994 to 2017. She
  is a past member of the Board of Trustees of The Enamelist Society and cu
 rrently serves on the Board of Directors at the Metal Museum. \n\n\n\nSara
 h is best known for her hand formed and enameled metal vessels and contain
 ers. She has shown her work in the USA\, India\, Canada\, Europe\, Korea a
 nd Taiwan\, ROC\, participating in over 300 competitive and invitational e
 xhibitions. Her work has been featured in the periodicals: Metalsmith\, Or
 nament\, Glass on Metal\, and Craft Arts International and is published in
  a number of books including The Art of Enameling\, The Penland Book of Je
 welry\, and Contemporary Enameling\, Art and Techniques. She was the juror
  for the Lark Publications book 500 Enameled Objects. Her work is in the p
 ermanent collections of a number of institutions including the Brooklyn Mu
 seum of Art\, the Long Beach Art Museum\, the Philadelphia Art Museum\, an
 d the Victoria and Albert Museum in London\, England. \n\n\n\nSarah was th
 e recipient of a Mid-America Arts Alliance/National Endowment for the Arts
  regional award. She has been a Senior Artist in Residence at the Oregon C
 ollege of Art and Craft and an Artist in Residence at the Tainan National 
 University of the Arts in Taiwan\, ROC\, and at Sanskriti Foundation in Ne
 w Delhi\, India. She was the 2019 Master Metalsmith at the Metal Museum in
  Memphis\, TN. She has taught numerous workshops on her enameling techniqu
 es at universities\, craft centers and guilds both in the USA and abroad.
