 perfume. For beginners\, in person. \n\n\n\n\nJoin Minetta Rogers for a gu
 ided blending session celebrating the solstice\, the smells of fall — an
 d\, of course\, perfume-making! For beginners\, but all levels are welcome
 . \nFor the first portion of this smelling and blending session\, we will 
 learn about some smells of the season. Scent strips will be handed out by 
 your friendly Institute for Art and Olfaction team\, and we will spend tim
 e smelling and discussing our impressions of aromatic materials associated
  with the season. \nWe will start the second portion of the session by bri
 efly discussing and practicing blending scent. Each student will have the 
 opportunity to blend with aromatic materials from the session’s selected
  palette. We will spend the rest of the session experimenting with our own
  short formulas. \nEach attendee goes home with a small trial of their aro

  with an exclusive evening featuring the architect behind one of Los Angel
 es’ most anticipated cultural landmarks: Ma Yansong\, founder of MAD Arc
 hitects. Discover how architecture can transcend physical space to create 
 connections between people\, cities\, and nature. \n\nWhat to Expect:\nYan
 song will give a presentation on his architectural practice\, including th
 e vision and design of the Lucas Museum\, followed by a roundtable discuss
 ion with Tracey Bates\, Thom Mayne\, and Eric Owen Moss\, moderated by Fra
 nces Anderton. \n\nBio:\nMa Yansong is the founder of MAD and one of the m
 ost influential architects working today. Under his creative leadership\, 
 MAD has gained international recognition for its fluid\, organic architect
 ural language. His practice moves beyond the conventions of modernism and 
 commercial development\, emphasizing emotion\, spiritual experience\, and 
 human connection. His work extends into exhibitions\, publishing\, product
  design\, and the arts\, crossing disciplines and expanding the boundaries
  of architectural thinking. \n\nTracey Bates is the Chief Executive Office
 r of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. She oversees the museum’s instit
 utional operations\, shaping strategic vision\, revenue growth\, visitor e
 xperience\, and development to establish the museum as a vital cultural re
 source for Los Angeles and beyond. She is charged with leading the Lucas M
 useum into its inaugural year\, transforming a years-long vision into a th
 riving\, publicly accessible institution.\n\nThom Mayne FAIA ‘69 founded
  Morphosis in 1972 as a collective practice of architecture\, urbanism and
  design\, rooted in rigorous research and innovation. Working globally acr
 oss a broad range of project types and scales\, Morphosis is recognized fo
 r its innovative and sustainable designs for cultural\, civic and academic
  institutions. \n\nEric Owen Moss FAIA is Principal and Lead Designer of E
 ric Owen Moss Architects. With each new project\, EOMA explores new ways t
 o think\, to feel\, to see\, and to understand architecture – to continu
 ally ‘Make it New.’ The firm avoids traditional organization strategie
 s\, standardized design solutions\, and any notion of architecture as simp
 ly a repetitive style. Each new design endeavor is positioned within an on
 going search for new and imaginative ways of engaging the world\, with the
  aim of creating spaces where everyone can feel this powerful spirit of di
 scovery.\n\nFrances Anderton is an award winning author who covers Los Ang
