DESCRIPTION:As artificial intelligence reshapes industries and accelerates
  innovation\, it is driving unprecedented demand for energy\, water\, land
 \, infrastructure\, and more. Communities across the country are grappling
  with balancing economic development with this increased strain on vital r
 esources. Join David R. Hill\, executive vice president of the Bipartisan 
 Policy Center’s Energy Program\, and Adam Cowie-Haskell\, senior policy 
 analyst for the BPC’s Energy Program\, for a discussion on the A.I. boom
 ’s impact on energy\, and the bipartisan solutions being found around th
 e country. \n  \n\n  \n     \nThis program is presented in partnership
  with the Bipartisan Policy Center and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce \n
   \n\n  \nDavid R. Hill is the executive vice president of the Bipartisa
 n Policy Center’s Energy Program in Washington\, DC. He also currently s
 erves as vice chairman of the board of directors of the New York Independe
 nt System Operator\, Inc. Hill’s prior positions include general counsel
  of the U.S. Department of Energy under then-President George W. Bush\; pa
 rtner and co-head of the energy practice at Sidley Austin LLP in Washingto
 n\, DC\; and executive vice president and general counsel of NRG Energy\, 
 Inc. and NRG Yield\, Inc. Early in his career\, Hill was associate counsel
  to the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture. Hill received his Bachelor of
  Science degree in agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri
 \, and his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law. \nAdam Cow
 ie-Haskell is a senior policy analyst with the Energy Program\, bringing d
 eep expertise in the electricity sector. He previously spent a summer at P
 attern Energy working with the distributed generation and merchant transmi
 ssion regulatory team. He has held several full-time roles\, including at 
 Solstice\, where he focused on formalizing partnerships with distributed s
 olar developers to bring benefits to low-income populations. He also worke
 d at CIC Health\, an early pandemic start-up that provided widespread COVI
 D-19 surveillance testing to schools\, hospitals\, and communities in New 
 England. Cowie-Haskell received his master’s degree in energy economics 
 and policy from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. He
  earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a certificate in English from 
 Wesleyan University.
