He’s written numerous titles on the subject of nuclear weaponry and atomic energy\, including The Road to Yucca Mountain: The Developmen t of Radioactive Waste Policy in the United States (2009)\, Three Mile I sland: A Nuclear Crisis in Historical Perspective (2004)\, and Prompt an d Utter Destruction: Truman and the Use of Atomic Bombs against Japan (199 7). Walker has also published on the history of the September 11\, 2001 te rrorist attacks\, including his book The Day That Shook America: A Concis e History of 9/11 (2021)\, which received the Choice Outstanding Academi c Title Award in 2022.
