 ation about speculative storytelling\, cultural memory\, and the power of 
 imagining worlds beyond the one we know. \nA pioneering voice in Afrofutur
 ism and Black speculative fiction\, Thomas has helped expand whose stories
 \, histories\, and futures are represented in science fiction and fantasy.
  She is the history-making first Black editor of The Magazine of Fantasy a
 nd Science Fiction and the author and editor of numerous works of fiction\
 , poetry\, and speculative literature. \nThe Ray Bradbury Memorial Writers
  Talk honors Bradbury’s legacy by bringing contemporary writers into con
 versation with the questions at the heart of his work: How does storytelli
 ng help us understand the world around us? Whose stories shape our sense o
 f what is possible? And what role can imagination play in how we think abo
 ut our communities and our shared future? \nThomas will join Dr. Jason Auk
 erman\, director of the Ray Bradbury Center\, for a conversation followed 
 by audience Q&A and a book signing. \nPresented by the Ray Bradbury Center
  in partnership with the Kheprw Institute and Ujamaa Community Bookstore\,
