DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\nBook tickets to see some of the best comedians Sc
otland has to offer- and to support Edinburgh’s newest work in progress
venue\, The Jester. If you cannot attend the show\, a donation will be h
ugely appreciated. ALL funds will go toward The Jester fundraisers\, event
s\, and the venue itself coming into fuition. \nLocation: PASS theatre\, W
 est Granton Road\, Edinburgh. EH5 1QE. \nTime: 18th September 2026\, doors
18:15\, show starts 18:30. \nPlease note that no entry will be available
once the show begins. The show will include one break approximately 55 min
s into the show which will last 15 minutes. If you have access needs\, ple
ase get in contact with The Jester\, and we will accommodate you. Wheelcha
 ir access available. \n  \nOUR AIM:- \nThe Jester will be a queer-owned s
pace which aims to be a community-driven accessible performance arts hub i
n Edinburgh\, specifically designed to bridge the gap between education an
d the professional performing arts industry. We want to offer everyone the
fair and equal opportunity to watch\, enjoy\, perform and create. We woul
d like to foster the growth of creatives\; offering them an affordable ‘
 third space’ to write\, network\, rehearse and attend workshops by day\;
and by night\, watch our high-quality Jester-produced events\, as well as
touring shows\, fundraisers and charity events. Offering a space to group
s within the community such as Andy’s Man Club\, Bipolar Scotland\, and
many other charities is also very important to the venue. We would also li
ke to create a Youth Theatre Group within the Jester\, operating closely w
ith local colleges\, schools and universities. Not only this\, but our ven
ue would be offered as a performance and rehearsal space for nearby primar
y\, highschools and colleges who either want to gain experience working in
a professional environment\, or don’t have the facilities for technical
courses within drama (nat 5\, higher and adv higher)\, or don’t have an
y sort of suitable space at their campus. \nWhat We Stand For:- \nAccessib
ility\nWe are committed to establishing Edinburgh’s first and only fully
accessible comedy venue\, addressing a significant gap in the city’s cu
rrent arts infrastructure. We will ensure to host at least one show a mont
h with a sign interpreter on stage with acts\, we have also been in discus
sion with funding bodies regarding installing a ‘Changing Places Toilets
’- which will benefit many wheelchair users\, folks with carers\, and th
ose with stomas\, etc. We will always be as accommodating as possible\, es
pecially if provided extra information before shows when it comes to fundr
aisers. \nCommunity\nOur focus is on cultivating a “human vibe” that p
rioritises community collaboration and genuine creative expression over pu
rely commercialised products. Legitimately everything we are going to do h
as the greater community in mind- offering the space to charities during t
he day\, working with local schools\, and working with professionals in th
e industry to develop and offer high-quality\, beneficial workshops. \nEdu
cation\nWe aim to create meaningful pathways for students to gain hands-on
experience in a professional working live events venue environment\, prov
iding space for rehearsals\, exams\, and performances. In addition\, we wi
ll also run and produce our own Youth Group- and hire a small team of loca
l drama and theatre teachers to assist\, to ensure the highest quality of
education available. Workshops for all ages and abilities will also be off
ered to everyone\, whether they have performed with us previously or not.
\nInclusion\nThe Jester is dedicated to being a safe and welcoming space f
or the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities\, as well as other marginalis
ed groups. \nSystemic Change\nWe seek to revitalise Edinburgh’s performi
ng arts scene\, ensuring it thrives year-round beyond the world-famous fes
tival season. Additionally\, as someone who worked as a stand up comedian
for multiple years- breaking down the culture of comedy being a ‘Man’s
Club’ is very important to me. Not only are we planning on working with
Get Off Live Comedy to provide vital Anti-Sexual Harassment training to t
he future staff members of the venue – but also will be providing a safe
\, anonymous contact system for comedians to report any harassment directl
y to myself and the board – which include the Head of Production and the
Head of Tech\, ensuring the venue will forever stay entirely safe for eve
ryone after reviewing reports. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\nEdinburgh C

DESCRIPTION:Edinburgh Board Gamers\n**CHANGE OF VENUE: We will be at the H
AMPTON for one more week! Sorry for any inconvenience!**\n\n**TYPICAL GAME
S**: Everything from party games to strategic epics!\n**GAMES LIBRARY**: B
 YO\, plus small library on site\n**FOOD & DRINKS**: Bar + Starbucks\, smal
l food menu **(20% Discount for EBG attendees).**\n\n**What better way to
celebrate the end of another week than with some drinks\, chat and games!*
 * Were over with our friends at The Hampton by Hilton near fountain park o
ver the summer while the Grassmarket Centre are busy with the festival.\n\
nThe tables are smaller than we have at other venues. We can move them aro
und as long as we put them back. Please dont take too many\, we need to le
ave some for others.\n\nThe hotel is giving us the space for free on the u
nderstanding that we encourage people to buy their lovely food and drink.
Please don't bring in your own. The staff preparing the food are also serv
ing at the bar and manning the hotel desk. Please be patient with them if
they are slow serving!\n\n* **20% Discount at the Hotel bar if you use the
phrase: "Can I get the discount\, I'm with the gamers over there. Cheers!
"** ... or they just realise you're with us.\n\nWe\\`ll be there from 630-
7:00 ish until 11:30-12:00 ish. **Don't worry if you're going to be late.
Games will be starting and ending throughout the evening.** It’s unusual
to need to wait more than 10-15 mins at events like these. We do need to
be out of the door by 12 exactly (ideally earlier) though due to their lic
encing rules. So please keen an eye on time.\n\nBring games if you like. W
e'll have some on site too. A wide range get played from lighter stuff to
big chunky ones.\n\n**Want to help with EBG running costs?** Please see ou
r Patreon below. Huge thanks to everyone donating already. Its genuinely r
eally helping and very much appreciated!\n\n[EBG Patreon Link Here. ](http
s://www.patreon.com/EdinburghBoardGamers)\n\n**As ever\, please do not don
ate if money is tight.** There is absolutely no pressure\, obligation\, or
judgement here. You are helping us plenty by just adding to the friendly
atmosphere and **we\\`d** **much** **rather you spent cash at the venue if
deciding between the two.**\n\n**I'M NEW AND UNSURE WHAT TO DO!** Do not
fear! We know it can be daunting for newcomers. But please don’t worry\,
we have a fantastic base of regulars who have all been new at some point.
You\\`ll find people are very friendly and the organisers even actively k
eep an eye open to make sure you get a warm welcome. If we've missed you\,
just ask one of the tables. ***What to Expect***: The day is very informa
 l. Some people will have pre-planned a longer game (feel free to use the c
omments)\, but the vast majority will honesty just form tables with whoeve
r is free using the big pile of games we keep on site. It’s a great way
to meet new people.\n\n**DO I NEED TO KNOW ALL THE GAMES?** Not at all! Ho
nestly\, that would be an impressive feat in its own right! Dont worry\, p
eople usually find a game someone knows how to teach\, often something the
y brought from home and we try to keep a good number of easy to pick up on
 es in the library.
