DESCRIPTION:Coffee and chats for LBTQ+ Women and non-binary folk. \n\n\n\n
\n\n“Sapphic” is an identity term or label generally used to describe
women’s attraction to other women. It’s an umbrella term for lesbians\
, bisexual/ pansexual women\, and queer women. It’s almost used as a syn
onym for “WLW” or “women who love women”. However\, the term “sa
pphic” is actually much more expansive than this.

DESCRIPTION:Anything But Silent – Culture Night 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
 Culture Night at Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre \nFriday 18 September 2026\, 5pm
 – 11pm \nOuthouse LGBTQ+ Centre presents an evening exploring the many w
ays LGBTQ+ people make themselves heard. Through a programme of art\, perf
ormance\, storytelling\, and participatory experiences\, visitors are invi
ted to explore the voices\, histories\, and creative expression that conti
nue to shape queer lives. \nThroughout the building\, artists\, community
members\, and audiences will come together to reflect on identity\, resili
ence\, joy\, and the power of collective memory. Whether quiet\, joyful\,
provocative\, or defiant\, each encounter offers a reminder that queer cul
ture has never been silent and continues to evolve through the people who
 create it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPEAK\nUnrecorded \nRed Room | From 6pm \nA
n intimate evening of live storytelling celebrating the breadth and divers
ity of LGBTQ+ experiences.\nThroughout the evening\, invited storytellers
 will share personal stories\, memories\, experiences\, and reflections\, o
ffering audiences the opportunity to encounter perspectives that are too o
ften overlooked or unheard.\nA new story will begin every half hour from 6
pm\, allowing visitors to drop in for a single story or stay for the eveni
ng. \nThis event will be accompanied by an Irish Sign Language (ISL) inter
 preter. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nREAD\nWords They Couldn’t Erase\n\nLibrar
y | From 5pm\n\n\nTrace a history of queer voices that have been censored\
, challenged\, restricted\, or deliberately erased\, and the many ways tho
se voices have survived. \nDelve into moments from around the world when L
GBTQ+ books\, stories\, archives\, and cultural expression came under pres
sure\, from historic censorship to contemporary challenges to queer books
in libraries. \nVisitors can then explore Outhouse’s LGBTQ+ Library\, wi
th a selection of books specially highlighted throughout the space. A myst
ery book stall will also invite visitors to discover a new queer voice\, w
ith books available for just €5 in support of Outhouse. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
 \n\n\n \n\nWRITE\nLetters to a Stranger \nTheatre | From 5pm \nWhat would
you say to someone you’ve never met? What might a stranger have to say t
o you? \nLetters to a Stranger invites visitors to take part in a simple e
xchange between people who may never meet. Write a letter to a stranger\,
leave it behind\, and take one written by someone else. The letters might
 offer a thought\, a memory\, a piece of advice\, or simply a few words int
ended for whoever happens to find them. \nThe installation offers a chance
to slow down\, write something for someone you don’t know\, and discove
r the words of someone who has chosen to leave something for you. \n\n\n\n
 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nLISTEN\nSkin to Skin Talks \nTheatre | From 5pm \nA sho
rt film by visual artist and LGBTQ+ activist Pradeep Mahadeshwar\, Skin to
Skin Talks explores alienation\, otherness\, and sexual racism through ab
stract imagery\, spoken prose\, and sensation. Drawing on Mahadeshwar’s
experiences as a queer person of colour and migrant in Ireland\, the film
reflects on the intersections of race\, sexuality\, belonging\, and exclus
ion. \n12 minutes | Film plays on a continuous loop

DESCRIPTION:Dubliners: Joys of Reading\n📚Reading books and discussing t
hem are two distinct experiences! Conversations about books and sharing in
sights help us better appreciate literature and enrich our lives. [Instagr
 am](https://www.instagram.com/dublinersjoysofreading)\n\nLet's grab a drin
k (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and discuss books we're currently reading o
 r have recently enjoyed—whether poetry\, fiction\, or non-fiction. Bring
your physical book or e-reader.\n\nThere's no formal structure or agenda
—just books and good conversation.💬\n\nIt's a perfect place to get bo
ok recommendations and rediscover your reading momentum if you've hit a sl
ump. We welcome readers of all backgrounds and interests!\n\n⚠️**Somet
hing Happened?**\nIf something unpleasant happened to you\, it may happen
to others. Even if it seems minor\, don't hesitate to reach out to me.\n\n
 🔍 **How to find us?**\n\n* When I reach the venue\, I'll leave a commen
t in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally\, the booking is in my
name\, so you can ask the staff for the group.\n* If you're unable to fin
d us\, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you.\n\nW
e highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations
with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading re
commendations are often the highlight of the event!\n\nAs an organizer\, I
'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new eve
nts\, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡\nI look forward to seeing
 you all! 😊
