DESCRIPTION:Explore the city of Detroit after dark in Detroit Mercy's 35th
  Annual Midnight Bike Ride. Join fellow students\, staff\, faculty and com
 munity members on Friday\, Sept. 11\, and travel by bicycle to discover a
 ll that Detroit has to offer.\nHere's the breakdown:\n\n 	Students: If you
  have your own bike\, this is a FREE event. If you need to rent a bike\, i
 ndicate on the form below and follow the link to receive a rental bike for
  just $5.\n 	Staff\, faculty and community members: Registration is $20. I
 f you need to rent a bike\, indicate on the form below and follow the link
  to receive a rental bike for just $10.\n 	Day-of check-in will begin at 7
  p.m. in Kassab Mall on the McNichols Campus (the area between the Student
  Union and Holden Hall). There you'll receive a free reflective Detroit Me
 rcy lanyard and\, if you registered for one\, your rental bike. The Bike R
 ide will begin at 8 p.m. sharp.\n\nThe Route & The Ride:\nAfter cutting so
 uth on Hamilton Avenue\, we'll wend our way through the Boston-Edison Hist
 orical District before heading down MLK Jr. Blvd. and stopping at the Cork
 town Campus in Southwest Detroit for a bathroom/water break. From there\, 
 we'll head east down Michigan Avenue through Corktown and into downtown\, 
 where we'll make a stop at American and Lafayette Coney Islands for a bite
  to eat. After that\, we'll cut down to ride briefly along the river\, swi
 ng past the Riverfront Campus on Jefferson Avenue. From there\, we'll cut 
 north and cruise back through Midtown/Cass Corridor\, then take Hamilton A
 venue north to Oakman Boulevard. Finally\, we'll roll west down Puritan Av
 enue\, turn north onto Livernois and re-enter the McNichols Campus through
  the Livernois Gate at about 11:30-11:45 p.m.\nRegister here

DESCRIPTION:The Student Life Office is hosting a free afternoon tour of De
 troit's famous Belle Isle on Friday\, Sept. 18.\n\nSet in the Detroit Rive
 r near downtown Detroit\, the scenic island is home to a mix of historical
  and cultural attractions. During the tour\, participants will visit the B
 elle Isle Aquarium\, the oldest aquarium in the United States\, and explor
 e the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservancy\, which houses plants from five un
 ique biomes around the world. The outing will end with a picnic at the bea
 ch before returning to campus.\n\nTransportation is available. Those plann
 ing to ride the Student Life bus should meet in the Student Union lobby at
  2 p.m. Participants driving separately should meet at 2:30 p.m. in the pa
 rking lot outside the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle.\nR
