DESCRIPTION:At the beginning of all things\, God spoke\, and a family tree
sprouted in the dust. Adam and Eve were the first branches\, but soon thi
 s beautiful tree came to include Noah\, Abraham\, Jesse\, King David\, and
eventually Jesus… \nBranch retells the journey from sin to salvation th
rough stirring poetry and a wonderfully accessible metaphor of trees\, gar
dens\, and plants. Luminous art from Michelle Carlos overflows with striki
ng Old and New Testament imagery\, which is explained further in back matt
er notes from the author and illustrator. Whether readers are hearing this
story for the first–or hundredth–time\, they’ll find something new
to discover on this expansive journey from Genesis to Revelation. Branch
is an unforgettable book to share during all seasons\, especially around C
hristmas and Easter. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPhoto Credit – Courtney Wil
son\nRebecca Janni (pronounced Yawn-nee) goes by Rebecca on paper\, Becky
in voice and sign language (sign name: B handshape\, tap opposite shoulder
)\, and “Mom” to six adult and young adult children. She lives in Stil
lwater\, MN with her husband James\, their youngest daughter Elizabeth\, a
nd their two dogs Ollie and Louie.  \nYoung Becky learned early that biki
ng was the best way to get around the neighborhood and reading was the bes
t way to get around the world. On a bus ride home from school\, she confid
ed to a friend that she was working on a novel about a girl and her horse.
She never finished the novel\, but a horse of a different hoof shows up i
 n her Every Cowgirl series.  \nHer newest book\, Branch: A Resurrection S
tory\, is her “heart on paper\,” exploring the connection between her
faith and writing. For as long as she can remember\, her most profound mom
ents of prayer and worship have happened with a blank sheet of paper and a
pen. Whether she is journaling\, writing for ministry\, or creating a wor
k of fiction\, writing feeds her faith and faith enriches her writing. \nR
ebecca holds a BA in English and French from Iowa State University and an
MAT in English Education from Boston University. She has enjoyed teaching
both high school and college. In addition to writing children’s books\,
Rebecca has written for Meredith Corporation publications\, local ministri
es\, and education curricula. She loves visiting schools\, universities an
d libraries\, offering story times and writing workshops. If you invite he
 r\, she might pedal into your neighborhood\, too! \n \n  \nBeaverdale Boo
ks is proud to donate 10% of the book’s event sales to Central Iowa Deaf
Academy\, an organization committed to academic excellence\, spiritual fo
rmation\, and social-emotional growth to equip Deaf students for lifelong
 success\, service\, and faith-filled living.
