North Texas gardens. \n  \n130+ FIG CULTIVARS AVAILABLE\nThis is not your
  typical garden-center fig selection. \nOur local small-business growers a
nd vendors are planning to bring more than 130 different fig cultivars\, r
anging from proven favorites to rare and hard-to-find selections prized by
collectors for exceptional flavor\, unusual fruit\, and unique characteri

ès\, Coll de Dama selections\, LSU selections\, and many more. \nWhether
you’re searching for a particular cultivar or choosing your very first f

plants. \nSee below for the full list of cultivars currently expected to b

st a chance to find a new tree. We’re bringing together experienced Texa
s growers to share practical information that can help you grow figs succe
ssfully at home. \nAll three presentations are FREE and open to the public
 . \n10:00 am\nJOHN WRIGHT — TWO DOVES BEES AND GARDEN\nThe North Texas F
ig Advantage\nWhy Figs Are the Most Resilient\, Productive\, and Permacult
ure-Friendly Fruit Trees for Our Climate \nFigs thrive in North Texas beca
use our climate shares many characteristics with their Mediterranean origi
ns\, making them remarkably well suited to local landscapes. John will exp
lore why figs excel here and introduce the concept of a Mediterranean-styl
e fig guild—a scalable\, climate-smart planting approach that can enhanc
 e soil health\, biodiversity\, and long-term productivity. \nYou’ll lear
n practical strategies for planting\, protecting\, and incorporating figs
into productive landscapes\, whether you’re growing a single tree or des
igning an entire fig-centered garden. \n11:30 am\nJOSHUA QUAST — TIMBER
COUNTY FARMS\nThe Perfect Fig for You: How to Choose from Hundreds of Vari
eties \nWith hundreds of fig cultivars available\, choosing the right one
can quickly become overwhelming. Joshua Quast of Timber County Farms will
break down the traits that matter most—from flavor and fruit size to rip
ening season\, productivity\, cold hardiness\, growth habit\, and North Te

in High Tunnels in Texas \nLearn how Little Bexar Farm uses high tunnels
to push the boundaries of growing figs and citrus in the challenging Texas
climate. Brian Emadi will share practical\, real-world strategies and les
sons learned from battling extreme Texas heat\, hard freezes\, and unpredi
ctable weather while pushing these crops to their full potential. From sea
son extension and plant protection to irrigation and nutrition\, you’ll
discover techniques that can help you grow healthier\, more productive fru

\nMEET THE GROWERS\nOne of the things we’re most excited about is the op
portunity to support local small-business growers who are genuinely passio
nate about figs. \nThese aren’t simply vendors setting up tables. They
’re growers and collectors who have invested years into finding cultivar
s\, growing them\, propagating them\, and sharing what they’ve learned.
\nJoining us as Fig Day vendors will include: \nRudy Perez — Texas Raise
