DESCRIPTION:TMN North Texas chapter || Enriching Natural Experiences For I
 ndividuals with Disabilities (AT) (VH)\nThursday || September 17\, 2026 ||
  6pm – 7:30pm    CT\n\nTITLE:  Enriching Natural Experiences For Ind
 ividuals with Disabilities\, Physical Challenges\, and Neuro-differences
 \n\nDescription: \nNature is for everyone. Its physical\, emotional\, spir
itual\, and social benefits are well established. As Master Naturalists\,
we often take for granted how easily we are able to spend time outdoors an
d connect with the natural world. For many individuals\, however\, experie
ncing nature is not so simple. Barriers to access can be both external and
internal\, limiting opportunities to engage with the outdoors.\n\nThis pr
esentation is designed to raise awareness and begin a conversation about c
reating more accessible and inclusive nature experiences for individuals w
ith a wide range of abilities and diagnoses. We will explore barriers such
  as physical accessibility\, challenging terrain\, environmental hazards\,
communication differences\, sensory processing needs\, learning and memor
y challenges\, and anxiety or fears associated with outdoor environments.\
n\nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own experiences and ideas to
the discussion. Together\, we will examine a variety of nature-based acti
 vities—including gardening\, bug hunts\, hiking\, meditation/calming\, a
nd nature-inspired art—and explore practical adaptations and strategies
for making these experiences welcoming\, meaningful\, and enjoyable for pe
ople with diverse abilities and needs.\n\nSpeaker:  Dalton Pfiffer\, NTMN
