 ll learn about the amazing Oregon White Oak through hands-on activities an
 d exploration of our oak woodlands at Bald Hill Farm. \nWe’ll start with
  a story and introduction to oaks followed by a walk and hands- on activit
 ies as we explore on and off trail in our oak woodland and savanna at Bald
  Hill Farm. Then we will return to the farmhouse or pavilion to create a a
  lovely collage using oak leaves and other materials. \nWhat and Where? Le
 arn all about the Oregon White Oak at Bald Hill Farm in Corvallis. Bathroo
 ms are available at the beginning and end of the event. \nWhen? Saturday\,
  September 19\, 2026\, 10 am – 12 noon \nWho’s Invited? This is an ex
 clusive event for Mighty Acorns and their families!  Not a member yet? Si
 gn up to join the club HERE and we’ll have your welcome packet at this
  event! \nWhat to wear/bring? Dress for the weather! We will be walking on
  a gravel trail and out in grass and vegetation under oak trees\, so long 
 lightweight clothing and closed-toed shoes is the way to go. Please bring 
 a water bottle and snacks if you want. Also bring your curiosity! \nSpace 
 is limited for this walk\, so you need to register in advance. All childre
 n must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 t 20 years. She has particular interests in dementia\, home-based care\, a
 nd palliative care. Throughout her career\, she has developed a variety of
  innovative clinical programs to serve the needs of vulnerable older adult
 s and adults with complex conditions. Helen moved to Corvallis\, Oregon in
  2016 and continues to be involved in education\, program development\, an
 d advocacy for the improved care of older adults. She is recipient of the 
 San Francisco Business Times Health Care Heroes Award (2011)\, UCSF’s Ma
 ster Clinician Award (2016)\, and the American Geriatrics Society’s Clin
 ician of the Year Award (2022).

DESCRIPTION:Recovery Dharma meetings offer a trauma-informed and empowered
  approach to recovery based on Buddhist principles. Meetings are peer-led 
 and non-theistic\; sessions include meditation\, reading\, and optional sh
 aring. The center provides kneeling benches\, zafus\, zabutons\, and chair
 s. There is no need to register\, and participants remain anonymous. Meeti
 ngs are free and donations to support materials (i.e. recovery dharma book
 s) and the center are appreciated. \n\n \n\nWe welcome all those who wish 
 to pursue recovery as a part of our community!
