an unforgettable alternative folk duo known for their breathtaking vocal
harmonies\, inspired songwriting\, dynamic live show\, and a remarkable on
and off-stage chemistry that will leave you with the feeling that you mad
e two new best friends. Married singers-songwriters Shawn Fisher and Jordy

vocal blend with an invigorating sense of emotional abandon in their energ

from just two voices and an acoustic guitar.\nThe Rough & Tumble is the dy

gnetic harmonies\, heartfelt songwriting\, and unmistakable on-stage chemi
 stry. Blending roots\, Americana\, and pop-leaning melodies\, their music

\, or inviting the audience into the moment\, The Rough & Tumble create pe

Hat Band\nFeaturing Jon Neff on guitar\, Syd Newell on fiddle\, and Meg T
apley on flute\, The Hat Band plays for contradances throughout Portland a
nd the Pacific Northwest. Dancers love their diversity (traditional\, rags
 \, blues\, swing\, klezmer)\, their three-part harmonies\, and their uniqu
e chemistry. Jon\, Syd\, and Meg also play in The Portland Megaband and va
rious other local bands.\nKoren Wake\nKoren Wake has only been calling con
tra dances since 2022\, but she has been dancing\, loving\, and obsessing
about contra since she was a child. Originally from New England\, she spen
t decades analyzing the art and flow of contra and developing a deep under
standing of the dance before she finally picked up a microphone in Seattle
\, where she is now based. She has already shared stages with some of the
hottest bands in the Pacific Northwest\, and has quickly proven that’s e
xactly where she belongs. She loves nothing more than to help dancers disc
over the patterns and connections of well-crafted choreography. Koren’s
primary goal as a caller is to combine exquisite dance selection with clea

they have fiddle\, piano\, and whistle (Alan Snyder\, Dave Goldman\, and
Greg Martin). But they also have HORNS! (Greg Martin and Stephanie Shea on
various saxophones\, and Kaye Blesener on trombone.) In addition to famil

DESCRIPTION:John McCutcheon\n\nMultiple Grammy-nominee John McCutcheon cha
rms audiences with “story telling that has the richness of fine literatu
re” (Washington Post) and his mastery of a stage full of folk instrument
 s is simply amazing. He plays guitar\, fiddle\, autoharp\, banjo\, jaw har
p\, (hambone if we are lucky) and is best known for his hammered dulcimer
playing. A John McCutcheon concert is always energizing\, fun\, uplifting\
, community building\, and his audiences leave with a renewed sense of hop
e for humanity. “This notion of telling stories of ordinary people who h
ave done great things\, and carrying those stories from one place to anoth
er\, of telling people ‘this is where I’ve been\, these are the storie
s I can bring you\,’ is the heart of what I do\,” McCutcheon sums up.
“That’s my goal. If you can recognize yourself in my songs\, then I’
ve done my job.” He lives in Georgia but keeps moving\, toward wherever
he senses there’s still a story yet to be told.\nHis 30 recordings have
gathered many honors including 7 Grammy nominations\, but it is in live pe
rformance that John feels most at home. It is what has brought his music i
nto the lives and homes of one of the broadest audiences any folk musician
has ever enjoyed. People of every generation and background seem to feel
at home\nin a concert hall when John McCutcheon takes the stage\, with wha
t critics describe as breathtaking in their ease and grace…\, like a con
versation with an illuminating old friend.\nSo if you want to laugh\, cry\
, be inspired\, and feel like you are a part of a big community\, then don
 ’t miss this concert.\nWhether in print\, on record\, or on stage\, few
people communicate with the versatility\, charm\, wit or pure talent of Jo
hn McCutcheon.\nMember discount code for tickettomato.com is FOLKLORE\nTic
