ople faced a real crisis\, whether the people knew it or not. Most of all\
, we turn to them for word that God remains with us\, that even in the har
shest judgment of our wrongs\, there remains hope that with God’s love\,
our hopes will bear fruit. In this study\, we will look at key moments in
the Prophet Isaiah’s teaching that reveal God’s perspective and will\
, especially in times of crisis and doubt. \nRegister

DESCRIPTION:“Small groups are where transformation happens.”Rev. Randy
Partain\n\n\n\nFacilitators do not make that transformation happen by the
mselves. They help create the conditions for it: a covenant people can use
\, room for different voices\, careful listening\, and ways to respond whe
n a group gets stuck. \n\n\n\nUUCC is offering this participatory training
twice. Both sessions cover the same material. Choose the one that works f
 or you. \n\n\n\n\nSunday\, September 20\, 3:00–7:30 p.m. Supper include
 d.\n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 3\, 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Lunch included.\n\
n\n\n\nRegister for Facilitating Connection. Please register by September
14 so we can plan the training sessions\, meals\, childcare\, and access
support. \n\n\n\nWho should attend?\n\n\n\nThis training is for: \n\n\n\n\
nPeople who currently lead or facilitate a UUCC group\n\n\n\nPeople intere
sted in facilitating one of our new Chalice Circles\n\n\n\nAnyone who want
s to develop facilitation skills for a future role at UUCC\n\n\n\n\nYou do
not need previous facilitation experience to attend. If you are interest
ed but unsure about taking on a facilitation role\, the training gives you
a chance to learn\, practice\, and explore before deciding. Curiosity can
open opportunities we didn’t know existed. \n\n\n\nWhat will we do?\n\n
\n\nWe will experience some of the practices ourselves and then look at wh
at a facilitator is paying attention to. Together\, we will work on: \n\n\
n\n\nCreating a covenant made of mutual promises\n\n\n\nListening without
 immediately advising\, fixing\, or redirecting the conversation\n\n\n\nHel
ping more people participate\n\n\n\nResponding when one person dominates\,
the group moves off track\, or someone makes a harmful comment\n\n\n\nKno
wing when to handle something within the group and when to ask for support
\n\n\n\n\nWe will try out brief responses to situations that arise in real
groups rather than spending the day talking about facilitation in theory.
\n\n\n\nWhy this matters\n\n\n\nFacilitating a UU group is a form of shar
ed ministry. It is one of the places where we practice our values\, learn
to live in covenant\, and help create a congregation where more people can
participate and belong. \n\n\n\nHaving people with different levels of ex
perience will strengthen the training. Current leaders can bring real situ
ations and practices that have worked\, while newer facilitators can bring
the questions they are still exploring. \n\n\n\nThe registration form inc
ludes space to share dietary needs and request childcare or other access s
upport. \n\n\n\nChoose your training session and register here. Please re
gister by September 14 so we can plan the training sessions\, meals\, chil
dcare\, and access support. \n\n\n\nQuestions? Contact Jenni Papp\, Direct
or of Lifespan Faith Development\, at jenni.papp@uucleveland.org.
