 h Technologies) as he presents Biomanufacturing: Breakthroughs in 3D Biopr
 inting and Regenerative Medicine\nRegister Now!\nBreakthroughs and transla
 tion of disruptive technologies in healthcare and medicine take interdisci
 plinary teams and innovative approaches over extended periods of the basic
  research and clinical/commercial implementation pathway. This talk discus
 ses examples how embracing interdisciplinary challenges and collaboration 
 can shape leadership and research strategy in managing complex systems and
  harnessing convergent technologies in healthcare and medicine. Examples w
 ill particularly focus on our use of biomanufacturing technologies and ste
 m cell biology in the development of 3D printed medical devices and Regene
 rative Medicine therapies with national and international partners to deli
 ver global impact.\n  \nBio: \nTim Woodfield is Professor of Regenerative
  Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Ot
 ago Christchurch.  He leads the Christchurch Regenerative Medicine and Ti
 ssue Engineering (CReaTE) Group and is Director of the University of Otago
  Centre for Bioengineering & Translational Health Technologies. His resear
 ch platform involves stem cell therapies\, 3D bioprinting and additive man
 ufacturing of medical devices applied to regenerative medicine and advance
 d 3D in vitro tissue culture models. \nHaving trained in biomaterials and 
 tissue engineering in North America and Europe\, he has >170 publications 
 (h-index: 59) and received a number of awards including a prestigious Ruth
 erford Discovery Fellowship from the Royal Society of New Zealand and the 
 University of Otago Research Gold Medal. He received the 2020 Research Exc
 ellence Award from the Australasian Society for Biomaterials & Tissue Engi
 neering (ASBTE)\, and is a Fellow in Biomaterials Science & Engineering (F
