DESCRIPTION:Yoga With Areta \nJoin Areta for a traditional Vinyasa Flow yo
 ga class. This one-hour\, bi-weekly practice blends poses\, breathwork\, a
nd meditation. Each session helps release tension\, restore balance\, and
strengthen the body. At the same time\, you’ll open and lengthen your mu
scles. \nWhether you’re new to yoga or have years of experience\, this m
indful flow will leave you feeling refreshed and energized. Just bring a m
at and a water bottle\, and you’re ready to go. \nVinyasa Flow is a dyna
mic style of yoga. It links breath with movement as you move smoothly from
pose to pose. This practice combines ancient traditions with a modern\, f

reath\, and mind in harmony. \nYoga offers powerful benefits. Physically\,
it supports heart health\, flexibility\, and strength. Mentally\, it redu

ing grounded and revitalized. \nAreta has been teaching yoga in Lake Fores

DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays\, 11am\, weekly \nNew research finds that exercise (s
uch as dance\, Tai Chi\, and boxing) can be beneficial for people with neu
rological conditions\, such as Parkinson’s disease\, helping improve mov
ement\, balance\, and cognition. JCC Chicago has been proud to offer Movin
g to Health for Parkinson’s\, using the Nia Technique\, as a free progra
m to our community for the past 10 years. \nThe program is a sensory-based
movement practice that draws on dance\, martial arts\, and healing arts s
uch as Yoga and Feldenkrais. \nThe class is appropriate for all ages and a
bilities\, paired with music to create a fun environment\, via Zoom from t
he comfort of your home. You do what you can based on how you’re feeling
and what you need to become your best self. \n“Even on zoom\, the class
provided a social break to accompany my desperately needed exercise. I am
grateful for having Sara and her class.” – L.B. \nEspecially because
I am mobility limited\, I look forward to my NIA exercise sessions with S
ara Shafran. She exudes a sense of welcoming and enthusiasm that make it a
joy for me to be part of the group. By the end of our sessions\, I feel t
hat every muscle in my body has had its chance to be gently stretched and
strengthened while the smiles on my face and inside of me stay on to help
keep me going. I very much appreciate that the JCC makes these sessions av
ailable live online as I would have great difficulty in reaching them in p
erson.” – Fred \n\n \nRegistration is required. You can register for 1
week or multiple weeks per month in a single transaction. The Zoom link t
o join will be included in your confirmation email. Please make sure to sa
