Over a career spanning more than 50 years\, he has helped shape popular and progressive rock music with his distinctive voice and songwriting. He joined The Mood y Blues in 1966 at just 19 and quickly made his mark with songs like “Ni ghts in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon” from the groundbreaking album Days of Future Passed\, which became a cornerstone of progressive r ock. Throughout the late ’60s and early ’70s\, the band released a str ing of hugely successful albums\, many featuring Hayward’s compositions\ , including hits like “Question\,” “The Voice\,” and “Your Wilde st Dreams.” The band has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Hayward himself was honored with an OBE in 2022. Alongside his band work\, he’s had a succe ssful solo career\, with highlights including “Forever Autumn” from Je ff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds and multiple solo al bums.
