DESCRIPTION:Members & guests–free \nEvery Saturday afternoon\, join fell
ow film aficionados of the Village for an in-depth organic discussion of f
ilms new and old. Watch the selected film any time–or enjoy the discuss
ion and be persuaded to view it after! \nThis week’s film is: \nNine to
 Five: 1980\, 110min\, on Amazon & others $4\n\nCelebrating Dolly\, let’s
watch her debut film produced in part by Jane Fonda. It tells the story o
 f three secretaries/assistants (Dolly Parton\, Jane Fonda\, Lily Tomlin) w
ho hate their boss Dabney Coleman\, and for good reason. He’s a “sexi
 st\, egotistical\, lying\, hypocritical bigot\,” and he admits it. The t
hree women fantasize what they’d like to do to him\, and then actually
do it. The story is over the top\, almost camp\, but who cares. Parton\, F
onda\, and Tomlin are magic together on screen\, and of the three\, Parton
stands out. Roger Ebert said she was “a natural-born movie star” who
“contains so much energy\, so much life and unstudied natural exuberanc
e that watching her do anything in this movie is a pleasure.” Dolly was
nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance\, and received many more
 nominations for her song.

DESCRIPTION:Join this  in-person group for a lively discussion and presen
tation each month  hosted by Belmont Village on Fullerton in Lincoln Park
\, all are welcome! \nThis month’s presentation but special guest Chris
Murray will be devoted to the Vera Rubin Observatory\, it’s telescope\,
camera\, and the science that will be enabled by the 10 year Legacy Survey
of Space and Time (LSST). Whereas the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) n
arrowly focuses on the early universe and its evolution\, LSST is exactly
the opposite.  LSST will image and catalog literally billions of celestia
 l objects (stars\, galaxies\, asteroids\, comets\, supernovae\, and object
s that have never yet been seen)\, This is a technical accomplishment on t
he order of JWST including the largest digital camera ever constructed.
LSST will provide science data for literally thousands of research project
s decades into the future.  Unlike other research telescopes that provide
data only to the project sponsors\, each image taken by LSST (one very 30
seconds for ten years and covering the entire southern hemisphere\, will
be available to anyone in the world literally within hours.  The amount o
f data collected over the life of the project will exceed by orders of mag
nitude any other project in the history of science. Prepare to  be amazed
