The adjacent 1861 St. Philips Mor avian Church is the oldest standing African American church in North Carol ina. Overnight is in buildings where enslaved people slept in Salem. Old S alem is a 193-acre National Historic Landmark District\, and two individua lly listed NHL buildings will provide SDP lodging: the Single Brothers Hou se (1769) and the Salem Tavern (1784).
