DESCRIPTION:A Day of Celebration for Guru Padmasambhava \n\n\n\nOnce a yea
r\, the Triratna Buddhist community gathers to honor Padmasambhava\, the g
reat tantric master credited with bringing Buddhism to Tibet in the eighth
century. Legend has it that he tamed the local spirits and elemental forc
es standing in the way of the dharma\, clearing the ground — quite liter
ally — for Samye\, Tibet’s first monastery\, to rise. His example of f
earless\, unshakable practice still speaks to modern life today and he is
remembered with deep devotion in Buddhist teachings as Guru Rinpoche\, “
the precious teacher”. \n\n\n\nThe day will start with a morning meditat
ion at 10am\, followed by a talk exploring Padmasambhava’s role at the f
ounding of Samye Monastery. Discussion groups will explore the relevance o
f his teachings in our own practice\, and the morning session will conclud
e with a guided ritual ceremony\, open to newcomers and long-time practiti

o please bring something to share if you can. \n\n\n\nLed by Padmasimha.

DESCRIPTION:Forum to promote third sector involvement in adult social care
delivery\n\n\n \nSection 16 Forums in Wales are partnership networks esta
blished under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. In Card
iff the Section 16 Forum is called the Shaping Care Together Forum. The Ac
t requires local authorities\, working with health boards and other partne
 rs\, to promote social enterprises\, co-operatives\, user-led services\, a
nd third-sector organisations that provide care\, support\, and preventati
ve services. \nThe forums bring together service providers\, commissioners
\, voluntary organisations\, health partners\, and community representativ
es to develop a shared understanding of priorities and to exchange good pr
actice. Their purpose is to support the growth of a strong social value se
ctor that can contribute to the delivery of health and social care service
s across Wales. \nAn important principle of the Shaping Care Together Foru
m is the involvement of citizens in the design and operation of services.
Forums therefore support greater participation by service users\, carers\,
and communities in shaping local care provision. \nThe Shaping Care Toget
her Forum in Cardiff has been operating since 2024 and meets on a quarterl
y basis\, with all organisations that are involved in the delivery of adul
t social care invited to attend. \nFor any further enquiry contact C3SC on

DESCRIPTION:CND is supporting this anniversary celebration of the Lucas Pl
 an - a conference for trade union\, left\, green\, peace\, community activ
ists and students and academics.\n\n50 years ago\, workers at the Lucas Ae
rospace arms company launched their pioneering Alternative Workers Plan. F
aced with threats to their jobs\, workers at Lucas Aerospace responded wit
h a visionary\, positive plan that challenged economic orthodoxy. They pro
posed 150 detailed ideas for socially useful products the company could ma
ke could be used to make socially useful products\, such as heat pumps\, w
ind turbines and kidney machines\, instead of fighter jet parts. The Lucas
Plan became famous worldwide\, sparking other groups of workers to propos
e their own plans. In Italy today\, workers occupying the former GKN auto
plant are putting those ideas into practice\, making cargo bikes and solar
panels.\n\nAt this conference\, hear Lucas Aerospace Shop Stewards and co
nnect with new generations of workers\, activists and communities to plan
the economic and social transformation we need.\n\n\n\nFor more informatio
