He is also known internationally as an accomplished actor and theatre clown\, having appeared on Broadway and with Cirque du Soleil\, as well as on television and variety stages in the US\, France\, England\, Chile\, Germany and Chin a.\nKen Clarkson picked up the banjo at age 10 and never put it down\, exc ept on occasion to paddle wild rivers as a park ranger in the arctic of Al aska\, to climb trees on the sides of volcanoes in Hawaii\, to protect end angered birds\, or to lead youth deep into the coastal redwoods of Califor nia. Along the way he also picked up guitars\, mandolins\, ukeleles\, dobr os\, and the occasional didgeridoo.  His happy place is somewhere in the woods teaching wilderness skills to kids\, surfing at dawn\, or playing hi s banjo to his pet chickens.
