DESCRIPTION:Project Name:  Middle Fork Payette  \nProject Dates:  Sep
tember 19-22  \nStarting at Boiling Springs\, we'll backpack north alon
g the Middle Fork of the Payette River. We will be working on immediate
log out and drainage needs to help address the effects of the 2024 wil
dfires east of Cascade. This trail follows the river for 15 miles\, ending
at Clear Creek Summit and is enjoyed by hikers\, backpackers\, and hot s
prings enthusiasts. Quick action is needed to stabilize the trail and kee
p it open in the areas that burned\, and annual maintenance and log out
is needed in the areas that did not. ITA worked the first 3.75 miles of t
rail last year\, and this crew will re-clear and push forward!   \nFrom
the trailhead it is 3.75 miles into our planned base camp. There are
eight creek crossings on the way\, but all can be safely navigated\,
and we can hike in our creek crossing shoes for much of the way vs taki
ng our boots on and off all day.  There is a lovely open spot among bi
g ponderosas just off the river for us to camp. Listen for elk calls bou
ncing off the canyon walls at night!  From here\, we'll continue to wo
rk north clearing\, fixing tread\, and brushing up as far as we can.
On the last full day\, we'll pack up early to camp at a well-establishe
d hot springs for the last evening together\, before retuning to cars
the next morning.   \nMore info on All Trails   \nProject informatio
n is subject to change. Crew leaders will communicate via email. Failure
to respond to your crew leader may result in being dropped from the projec
 t. See our FAQs\, reach out to your crew leader\, or contact ITA staff at
  trails@idahotrailsassociation.org if you have questions.  \nTrails: M
iddle Fork Payette River Trail #033  \nItinerary: This is a four-day pro
ject. Welcome to camp at the trailhead the night before\, for a morning
 start backpacking/working on Saturday.  Working Saturday – Monday\, a
nd Tuesday back to the trailhead and heading home.    \nFood Provided b
y ITA: No – This project is eligible for backpacking food per diem.

Estimated Drive Time from Closest Town: 1 hour from Garden Valley  \nTr

osit: $50   \nWhy do I need to pay a deposit? We've had trouble with
people backing out of trips at the last minute which can really affect
the productivity of the overall project. By charging a refundable fee\, vo
lunteers are less likely to cancel their reservation. Refunds will not be
given to volunteers that do not show up or cancel their reservation. Exce
ptions will be made for medical reasons or unforeseen circumstances. Volun
teers can choose to donate the deposit to ITA. All donations are tax-dedu
ctible and will go towards maintaining trails throughout Idaho. If you
require assistance in paying for this fee\, please contact us at trails
@idahotrailsassociation.org and we will waive the cost.   \nDifficulty
Rating  \nYou should have experience with backpacking and be in good hik
ing condition with broken-in and tested gear. This is a remote backcount
ry project\, so injuries such as sprains and blisters or even extreme fa
tigue from not being properly conditioned can quickly become a big safety
issue.  If you are unsure about the proper gear or about preparing for a
  trip\, please reach out to trails@idahotrailsassociation.org.   \nHik
e: 4/5 Strenuous – Lots of creek crossings bumped this up to a four
vs a three\, but we scheduled later in the season to avoid high water.
Once at camp\, only one creek crossing to get to the project site pa
st here.  No more than four miles round trip is expected for the ma
ximum hike.  The trail follows the river\, dropping gently in elevatio
n\, with some steep but short sections.  Carrying all personal gear and
trail tools. See the linked map for the elevation profile.  \nProject: 3/
5 Moderately Strenuous – Crosscut and log out to clear trail. Tread wor
k as needed to ensure proper drainage.  \nVolunteer Spots Available: 0 of

p Idaho Shakespeare Festival (ISF\; Boise\, ID)\, Great Lakes Theater (GL

at Idaho Shakespeare Festival in Boise in August 2026 before traveling to
Great Lakes Theater in Cleveland\, where it will help inaugurate the compa

and dramatic structure of the originals while offering language that reson
ates with modern audiences. Over the next five years\, GLT\, ISF and LTSF
will collaborate with Play On to bring these translations to life through
an ambitious slate of work\, including four full productions across five s
easons\, a newly commissioned world premiere translation of Hamlet and
touring/multi-venue performances shared among all three organizations. At
least one production will travel to all three partner theatres\, creating
a uniquely connected Shakespeare experience across the country. “The par
tnership between Play On Shakespeare and Idaho Shakespeare Festival\, Grea
t Lakes Theater and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival grew through years of
  careful\, rigorous collaboration — production-based partnerships that
spotlighted individual Shakespeare translations\,” explains Sally Cad
e Holmes\, Play On Shakespeare’s Head of Partnerships. “This next chap
ter expands that foundation. We remain committed to production-based work
\, but we’re equally excited to deepen our investment in Shakespeare acc
ess and theatrical innovation through multi-year collaborations with value
s-aligned institutions. Under Sara Bruner’s leadership\, all three orga
nizations share our dedication to exploring the ever-expanding ecosystem o
f Shakespeare translation\, inviting playwrights into rehearsal rooms and
shaping the future of theatrical practice.” A Partnership Rooted in Comm
unityBeyond the stage\, the partnership includes a robust slate of commu
nity-centered initiatives designed to deepen engagement with Shakespeare a
cross generations. These programs include Community Schools programming i
n Boise using shortened Play On translations\, support for Idaho Shakespea
re Festival’s statewide school touring initiative called Shakespearienc
e beginning in 2027\, summer drama school offerings for students running
from 2026 through 2030 and seasonal workshops that bring together artists\
, educators and community members to explore the plays in collaborative an
d inclusive ways. Together\, these initiatives reflect a shared commitment
to making Shakespeare more inclusive and relevant for learners of all age
 s. Equity and Artistic CollaborationA central value of the partnership is
a shared commitment to equitable representation in casting and artistic pr
actice. Play On defines this as fostering ensembles that reflect a wide ra
nge of lived experiences\, including race\, gender identity\, ability and
age\, while creating meaningful opportunities for artists and communities
that have been historically underrepresented in Shakespearean performance.
Play On Shakespeare will further support the partnership through a dedica
ted Resident Dramaturg\, Dr. Lue M. Douthit\, Play On Shakespeare’s Se
nior Dramaturg & Co-Founder. Dr. Douthit will collaborate closely with all
three organizations to provide dramaturgical insight\, audience engagemen
t content and creative consultation throughout the partnership. Looking Ah
eadWith productions\, workshops\, educational initiatives and new translat
ions on the horizon\, this partnership represents a bold new chapter for S
hakespeare in the American theater. One that connects more people to Shake
speare through vibrant\, accessible language and ideas. About Idaho Shakes

DESCRIPTION:Drink The Sea began three years ago in 2022\, when Alain and B
arrett jammed at Barrett’s studio in Olympia\, WA just to see what kind
of magic they could conjure together. Two years later\, Barrett and Duke t
oured together in England and Iceland\, before recording additional songs
in Reykjavik. After that\, Barrett\, Duke\, and Peter met in Sao Paulo to
record more songs\, which continued with Alain joining them in Joshua Tree
\, and then some additional recording at Alain’s studio in Santiago\, Ch
ile. Final production happened at Barrett’s studio in Olympia\, WA\, and
mixing took place in Barcelona\, Spain. The two debut albums the band rec
orded were literally recorded around the world. \nTaking their name from a
lyric that Duke wrote\, the albums are produced and mixed by Barrett and
Alain and reflect the members vast experience as songwriters\, arrangers\,
and singers. It also shows a strong world music influence that permeates
the music\, because although the songs are built around traditional guitar
\, bass\, and drums configurations\, the songs also shimmer with the sound
s of Arabic oud\, Indian sitar\, Indonesian gamelans\, and various exotic
 percussions like Brazilian surdo\, frame drum\, vibraphone\, marimba\, and
kalimba. \nThe band will begin touring in October of 2025\, and the first
single will be released on May 23rd with new singles following every two
weeks. The two albums will be released on September 19th and October 3rd\,
  respectively.
