Thi s workshop will support you in developing the kinds of summative assessmen ts which align with your course learning outcomes and provide learning opp ortunities. In order to support both learning and motivation\, we’ll als o explore how to create authentic assessments which offer students choices and are presented transparently. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you shoul d be able to: \n-- Describe how summative and formative assessments differ \n-- Choose summative assessments which align course learning outcomes\n-- Apply the GRASPS framework to develop authentic assessments \n-- Describe ways to offer students choices in how they demonstrate their learning\n-- Explain strategies for creating more transparent assessments\n-- Analyze the benefits of applying these principles of assessment design\n\nWorkshop s in the Ten for Teaching series focus on essential classroom teaching ski lls.
