DESCRIPTION:Molchat Doma (translated as “Houses Are Silent”)\, founded
in 2017 in Minsk\, Belarus\, stands at the intersection of post-punk\, ne
w-wave and synth-pop. Dark yet danceable\, and with a heavy dose of goth e
thos\, their music is reminiscent of the masters that predate them\, but m
ake no mistake: Molchat Doma creates a sound and meaning that is immediate
ly recognizable as all their own. \nThe band is comprised of Egor Shkutko\
, who sings the Russian lyrics in his deep monotone\, Roman Komogortsev on
guitar\, synths\, and drum machine\, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synths.
  \nThey self-released their first album\, S krysh nashikh domov (С кр
ыш наших домов\, ‘From The Roofs of Our Houses’) in 2017 a
nd later released their second album\, Etazhi (Этажи\, ‘Floors’
) in 2018. After gaining popularity worldwide\, they signed to American in
dependent label Sacred Bones Records in 2020\, who reissued their albums
\, marking their first releases in North America. The song “Sudno” do
esn’t leave the global top viral on Spotify since April 2020. \nTheir th
ird studio album\, Monument (Монумент)\, was released on 13 Nove
mber 2020. \nDespite playing to packed clubs no matter whether it’s in L
 ondon\, New York\, Warsaw\, Los Angeles\, Helsinki\, Belgrad\, or Berlin.
\n\n \n\nDITZ (UK)\n\n‘Never Exhale’ is the sound of a band that hasn
’t stopped for a breath. DITZ have toured relentlessly since the release
of their first album ‘The Great Regression’ and even before\nthat\, t
ravelling at least 100 days a year since COVID. The songs that form their
newest offering were written across Europe\, often on off days and in borr
owed rehearsal rooms just to break up the long drives. \nIt could be said
that the band treat recording and release of music as an afterthought. Oft
en playing songs live years before their release\, tweaking them as they g
 o. The songs on the final record may change before they are ever heard as
part of the album. \nFormed in late 2015 and playing their first show the
following summer\, DITZ came together after vocalist C.A. Francis\, guitar
ist Anton Mocock and bass player Caleb Remnant went to watch METZ and Ligh
tning Bolt and Concorde 2 in Brighton. “Let’s do that.” A few shows
in they picked up current guitarist Jack Looker\, although his original po
sition was behind the drum kit. After a few singles such as ‘Seeking Arr
angement’\, ‘Gayboy’ and ‘Total 90’\, the band arrived at its cu
rrent lineup with Sam Evans joining on drums. This was summer 2019. The ba
nd embarked on their first proper headline tour at the start of 2020\, com
pleting it just before the world shut down. They made use of this time wis
ely\, holing up in the closed pub that Sam lived in an worked at to write
parts of their first album. As soon as they could play shows again\, they
did\, managing to get several tours under their belt before the release of
their debut album “The Great Regression” in 2022. One of these tours
was dubbed “the brexit tour” by the band. “We got in a van and tried
to play the most random small towns we could\, often just to the opening
bands and some regulars. It was character building trying to win over thes
e audiences that really couldn’t give a shit. Chichester was a particula
r highlight.” Francis remarks. \nAfter the album’s release things bega
n to take off for the band\, shows started selling out\, both in the UK an
d Europe\, publications such as Pitchfork heaped praise on the album and t
he band had to start thinking about writing another. The problem was that
they were always on the road. The answer was to write them on days off\, t
he result is an album that reflects the sound of the road. \n‘Never Exha
le’ was largely recorded at Holy Mountain studios in London during a fre
ezing cold January. The process was fraught with obstacles. The original p
lan\, to go and record in Rhode Island\, was abandoned when DITZ were offe
red a support tour with IDLES\, although the album was still mixed by the
originally intended engineer\, Seth Manchester (Model/Actriz\, Lingua Igno
ta\, Big Brave). The result is an album hardened by the pressure of its ow
n making. Laboured but not loved. \nThe album themes reveal themselves mor
e on further listens. The opening gambit ‘Taxi Man’ is an exploration
into what it would be like to weigh up your impact on the world. The epony
mous taxi man could be seen as a St Peter type figure\, or like Charon\, f
errying the dead into the underworld. The song was written in Cologne on t
he second day of a two-day songwriting session. The first day was a bust.
Nothing was achieved outside of general frustration between the band membe
rs. The atmosphere was soured by months\non the road. This carried on the
next day\, the band members reluctantly arriving separately in drips and d
rabs. As if out nowhere\, Looker came up with the central riff which was q
uickly strengthened by Remnant’s contribution. The lyrics came from poem
written by Francis in the Taxi Ride home the previous day. \nFurther on t
he album explores themes of unnecessary hatred and division in ‘Space/Sm
ile’ and ‘It Smells Like Something Died In Here’\, ‘Senor Siniestr
o’ looks at aging and in ‘The Body As A Structure’the separation of
the physical from an ingrained sense of reality. It’s political\, but ul
timately personal. More Genet or Kafka than Orwell or Huxley. \nSonically
the album has its roots in the usual DITZ influences\, classic noise rock
such as The Jesus Lizard or Shellac\, or the obtuse post punk of the Fall\
, but also brings in fresh influences. ‘Space/Smile’ in particular hol
ds these references aloft. The initial demo was a slower affair written by
Remnant\, revved up in the rehearsal room by the fury the track demanded.
The closing track ‘Britney’\, could be compared to Radiohead or Mogwa
 i. Jack wrote the initial version of the instrumental on weekend at home w
ith family. It was an attempt to reconcile two different emotions. It was
tentatively shared with the rest of the band\, Looker believing they would
pass on something so different from what they’ve previously released. H
e was wrong and they embraced the chance for experimentation. Francis’s
lyrics reflecting the vulnerability of the instrumental. \nOverall the alb
um is a clear development from their first effort. A sign of things to com

DESCRIPTION:Big Gigantic have been redefining live electronic music for ov
 er a decade\, fusing saxophone solos\, masterful beats\, and high-energy p
erformances into a sound that’s uniquely their own. The Denver-based duo
—Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken—blend jazz\, hip-hop\, funk\, and bas

d on stage. \nSince emerging in 2009\, Big G has accumulated hundreds of m
illions of streams with hit songs like “All of Me” (feat. Logic & ROZE
S)\, “The Little Things” (feat. Angela McCluskey)\, and “Highly Poss
ible” (feat. Waka Flocka Flame). Their music has been featured in Apple
commercials\, NBA games\, HBO\, and even blockbuster trailers\, and they
’ve brought their live sets to Coachella\, Lollapalooza\, EDC\, Electric
Forest\, and beyond. They also throw Rowdytown\, their legendary\, sold-o
ut annual event at Red Rocks\, now in its 14th year. \nIn 2023\, Big Gigan
tic played the Denver Nuggets NBA Championship parade and kept the momentu
m rolling with their fall release\, “Oh Dang!” (with AHEE). 2025 saw t
he release of their ninth album\, Fluorescence\, which featured collaborat
 ions with Ganja White Night\, ALIGN\, Daniel Allan\, ProbCause\, Koastle\,
Daily Bread\, and more. \nBeyond the music\, Big Gigantic are all about m
aking an impact. Through their A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation\, they
’ve raised over $1 million for at-risk youth\, music education\, and com
 munity programs.
