DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Rosh Chodesh gatherings\, an opportuni
ty to come together and get rooted in our Jewish tradition and the natural
land cycles. Each session is crafted to correspond with the new Hebrew mo
nth\, with texts and colors that symbolize the essence of the time. \nOur
tradition suggests that each month holds a potential to work with differen
 t life issues—such as sleep\, anger\, eating\, sight\, and listening. We
will explore these themes through text learning\, creative writing\, sing
ing\, and sometimes working with flowers and Jewish traditional color theo
ry. \nOur sessions will be held when the moon is absent\, opening us up to
the possibilities of the new moon coming our way. Even when the world see
ms to turn upside down and fall apart\, the moon keeps going in circles\,
and we will be with her. Join us for a time of reflection\, connection\, a
nd growth as we journey through the Jewish calendar together. \nBy registe

DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we will be diving into meaningful themes asso
ciated with Rosh Hashanah and the Shofar. One teaching says that the sound
of the shofar brings us back to love and the truth of our connection to t
he divine. As humans we get caught up in all kinds of suffering that have
us believe we are separate from the divine. The sound of the shofar is a c
all to reconnect spiritually. The highest vibration and most spiritual vib
ration is love\, on earth we can easily forget that! \nWith Yoga and breat
hwork we have the opportunity to work with our physical bodies to meet thi
s moment. On every Rosh Hashanah we are blessed with a new moon in Virgo.
We’ll be playing with Virgo energy as a way to enrich our Rosh Hashanah
journey as we practice Kundalini Yoga. This workshop offers a way to deepl
y reflect and bring intention to the Jewish New Year. \nPlease come ready
to practice yoga! Bring a yoga mat\, water\, a pen and journal. All levels
  are welcome! \nJenny Overman is a 220-hour RYT Kundalini Yoga teacher\, a
n Astrologer and Evidential Psychic Medium. With an additional certificati
on in Vinyasa yoga and over 25 years of experience teaching and practicing
\, Jenny feels immense gratitude for the many gifts yoga has offered her.
Jenny’s dynamic classes offer a nurturing environment filled with mystic
ism\, magic\, creativity and joy. Jenny is passionate about Judaism\, and
has been integrating Jewish learning into her classes for the last several
years. She also weaves Astrology into her teaching and is committed to ma
king her classes accessible to all levels and bodies. Jenny lives in Berke
ley and is a Mom to two amazing kids.

DESCRIPTION:“If words are the pen of the heart\, then song is the pen of
the soul.” — Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi\n \n\nJoin us for a soulfu
l intimate journey into Chassidic niggunim and contemporary melodies from
around the world. \nLearn powerful\, centuries-old niggunim unique to th
e auspicious month of Elul\, explore their deep mystical histories\, and e
xperience heart-opening connection through collective chanting and singing
. \nThrough these sacred word and wordless melodies\, we will gently enter
a meditative state\, allowing the niggunim to open the heart and guide us
on a deep spiritual journey into the soul. \nNo singing experience\, musi
cal background\, or Hebrew knowledge is required — just bring an open he
art. \nAbout the Facilitator: Esther Riesenberg grew up in a Chabad Chasid
ic Orthodox family as the daughter of a Rabbi\, surrounded by the powerful
\, ancient melodies of niggunim sung by her father and brothers. Because t
raditional customs restricted women from singing in front of men\, combine
d with her own personal blockages around singing with women\, Esther’s v
oice remained quiet during her youth. However\, her personal and musical j
ourney eventually led her back to the songs and prayers of her heritage. R
ediscovering these sacred melodies brought her heart immense joy\, sparkin
g a passion to share them with the world. \nToday\, Esther performs these
joyful soul-melodies and niggunim at synagogues and gatherings across the
San Francisco Bay Area. Esther is currently pursuing an Associate Degree i
 n Music at the college.

nature lovers\, gardeners\, and aspiring horticulturalists in the rhythms
of our annual cycle. We will discuss late summer and fall garden design co

o attend either day as a standalone\, but attending both days is highly re

 an intimate\, hands-on learning environment. \nAbout Caleb O’Reilly\nBor
n and raised in the East Bay\, it took moving away to New England for Cale
b to recognize the unique bounty of our local ecosystem. Returning to the
Bay with a degree in forestry\, Caleb quickly fell in love with edible pla
nts and food systems as tools for ecological restoration and a political o
n-ramp for a better world. \nTo Caleb\, gardening is a complex toolkit tha
t can bring hours of pleasure\, enable us to combat the many woes of the A
nthropocene\, and has the potential to fundamentally shift our relationshi
p with the natural world from one of extraction to interconnectedness. \nC
aleb cut his teeth as a farmer and permaculturist studying tropical agrofo
restry on O’ahu and apprenticing on a hyper-diverse organic market farm
in the Klamath River Basin. Since returning home to the Bay\, he has worke
d as a regenerative landscape designer\, an urban farmer on rooftops in Sa
n Francisco\, and most recently as the Senior Farmer at Urban Adamah. \nCa
leb is obsessed with Citrus\, has a particular passion for rare and unusua
l perennial food crops and fruit trees. His teaching emphasizes an approac
h to agriculture that focuses on understanding and working with living thi
ngs\, rather than imposing human desire upon them. \nTuition\nWe are offer
ing this workshop on a sliding scale to support accessibility while ensuri
ng the full costs of the program are covered. We invite you to select the
tier that aligns with your financial reality. \n\nSunday 9/27 Only\nSchola

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Rosh Chodesh gatherings\, an opportuni
