DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we will be diving into meaningful themes asso
ciated with Rosh Hashanah and the Shofar. One teaching says that the sound
of the shofar brings us back to love and the truth of our connection to t
he divine. As humans we get caught up in all kinds of suffering that have
us believe we are separate from the divine. The sound of the shofar is a c
all to reconnect spiritually. The highest vibration and most spiritual vib
ration is love\, on earth we can easily forget that! \nWith Yoga and breat
hwork we have the opportunity to work with our physical bodies to meet thi
s moment. On every Rosh Hashanah we are blessed with a new moon in Virgo.
We’ll be playing with Virgo energy as a way to enrich our Rosh Hashanah
journey as we practice Kundalini Yoga. This workshop offers a way to deepl
y reflect and bring intention to the Jewish New Year. \nPlease come ready
to practice yoga! Bring a yoga mat\, water\, a pen and journal. All levels
  are welcome! \nJenny Overman is a 220-hour RYT Kundalini Yoga teacher\, a
n Astrologer and Evidential Psychic Medium. With an additional certificati
on in Vinyasa yoga and over 25 years of experience teaching and practicing
\, Jenny feels immense gratitude for the many gifts yoga has offered her.
Jenny’s dynamic classes offer a nurturing environment filled with mystic
ism\, magic\, creativity and joy. Jenny is passionate about Judaism\, and
has been integrating Jewish learning into her classes for the last several
years. She also weaves Astrology into her teaching and is committed to ma
king her classes accessible to all levels and bodies. Jenny lives in Berke

DESCRIPTION:From the time we’re very young\, we begin learning who we’
re supposed to be. We absorb countless messages about what it means to be
a woman or a man\, which emotions are acceptable\, how we’re expected to
love\, speak\, lead\, care\, and belong. Much of this conditioning happen
s so early and so subtly that we mistake it for the truth. \nBeneath these
learned roles is a heart that longs to love freely and live truthfully. \
nIn this gathering\, we’ll explore the ways gender conditioning can shap
e our expression of love\, our relationship with vulnerability and strengt
h\, our ability to receive and to give\, and the quiet compromises we make
in order to be accepted. Rather than judging or rejecting the conditionin
 g we’ve received\, we’ll approach it with compassion\, recognizing tha
t these adaptations were often born from a deep desire for love and belong
ing. \nAs we bring this conditioning into awareness\, question it\, meet t
he underlying pain\, fear and challenge that lies beneath it\, the heart n
aturally starts to reclaim the qualities it has hidden\, and we discover a
way of being that is more authentic\, more whole\, and more deeply aligne
d with our essential nature. \nJoin Jeannie for inquiry\, meditation\, and
heartfelt exploration as we discover what it means to love beyond gender
and allow the heart to express itself with greater freedom. \nAbout Jeanni

you’re interested in supporting your community through a transition\, or
are moving through a transition yourself\, this workshop will help you cr
aft rituals to support your process.Across time and culture\, communities
have created rituals to successfully navigate times of change: birth\, dea
 th\, grief\, coming of age\, marriage\, graduation\, healing events\, agin
g\, heartbreak and more. Rituals are cocoons\, providing safe containers f
or the overwhelming feelings that arise during metamorphosis. Our ancestor
s developed these participatory\, embodied technologies to assist ritual p
articipants in making meaning of their past experiences and taking on new
identities and responsibilities in the present. Many of us have experienced
rituals in various contexts\, for instance in our childhood church\, or d
uring medicine ceremonies. But what if you no longer ascribe to your child
hood religion\; or you want to make rituals for a broader audience\; or yo
u simply want to avoid appropriating rituals from other cultures\, particu
larly those most vulnerable to exploitation? Whether you’re interested i
n practicing ritual in your chosen field\, with your community\, or on you
r own\, this workshop will help you learn the basics of ritual practice\,
so you can practice ethically and with confidence. In this workshop we will
:•    Define the ritual process and its purpose•    Discuss the hi
story and development of Ritual Studies as a field•    Describe the mo
st essential ritual components and how to apply them•    Practice seve
ral different rituals useful in a broad range of contexts•    Construc
t a ritual tailored to your profession or daily life•    Evaluate whic
h rituals are appropriate based on need\, culture\, intention\, and timeBy
the time you complete this workshop\, you will be able to confidently exp
lain what rituals are and know how to use them. You will identify several
classic rituals you can use to support your community (or yourself)\, and

It limited what the team could take on—a reality many GLAMP institution

DESCRIPTION:This is a two-Saturday class\, 9/19 and 9/26\, 10 AM to 5 PM \
nDo you look at images of Victorian ladies and wish you could dress just l
ike them? Now you can! Come make a late-Victorian bodice from 1830-1899. Y
ou can wear it to Victorian balls\, teas\, SASS events\, or any occasion y
ou desire. You can even use it as a base for a modern or fantasy gown! \nW
e’ll start with a Truly Victorian bodice pattern of your choosing\, and
augment it with authentic 19th century dressmaking techniques to make a cu
stom gown just for you. We’ll cover measurements\, pattern adjustments\,
  fitting\, period sewing techniques\, trimming\, boning\, hand finishing\,
and much more. \nIn the first session\, you will cover a brief overview o
f the styles worn in the era. You will take measurements\, trace off the c
orrect pattern pieces\, and then make and fit mock-ups. \nIn the second se
ssion\, you will then move on to cutting and constructing your bodice and
adding boning. We’ll finish out by concentrating on closures and facings
. \nPrerequisites: Students must have made at least one dress or blouse fr
om a pattern and know how to use a sewing machine. \nSUPPLY LIST:THE PATTE
RN: \nA Truly Victorian bodice pattern from the Victorian era (1840 – 18
90s) These patterns have been carefully chosen because they have similar p
attern pieces and come from reputable companies. Please do not substitute
another pattern. \nTruly Victorian bodice pattern of your choice from the
 following list: \nTV 440: 1859 Pagoda Bodice\nTV 442: 1860s Ballgown Bodic
 e\nTV 443: 1861 Dress Bodice\nTV 446: 1860s Darted Bodice\nTV 447: 1863 Sh
 eer Dress\nTV 449: 1861 Revere Bodice\nTV 453:  1861 Raphael Evening Dres

  Bodice\nTV 464: 1883 Riding Habit Bodice\nTV 466: 1887 Alexandra Bodice\n
 TV 490: 1892 Ball Gown Bodice\nTV 493: 1896 Plain Bodice\nTV 496: 1896 Rip
ple Jacket \nTHE FABRIC: (Some of which are available from Lacis) \n\nFabr
ic\, as listed on your pattern.  Remember to buy enough to make matching
skirts if you want them.\nLining: NOT modern slippery lining fabrics!  10
0% cotton sateen\, lightweight twill\, polished cotton or broadcloth.  Sa
me yardage as bodice.\nMuslin (or old sheets\, etc) for a mockup: 2 yards
or more\nPreparation: Please prepare all fabrics by washing or steaming\,
if necessary.  However\, do not wash your muslin.  Press all fabrics.
Tape together print-at-home patterns if needed.  Read pattern instruction
 s. \n\n  \nWHAT TO WEAR: \nPlease bring the underpinnings that you plan
on wearing with bodice. Historically accurate undergarments are a well-fit
 ted corset\, chemise\, petticoats\, and hoop\, bum pad\, or bustle\, if yo
u will be wearing one is highly recommended.  Petticoats\, hoops\, and bu
stle/pad affect the fit of your bodice\, so please bring them if you will
be wearing them.  It is perfectly fine not to wear historical undergarmen
ts\, but you must have all the undergarments you plan to wear at the first
class and every class thereafter. Switching the undergarments will undo a
ll your careful fitting work.  \nWearing modern undergarments instead is
absolutely fine\; just be aware that a skirt made to wear with a corset wi
ll not fit properly\, or at all\, without one\, and vice versa. So please
make a decision and commit to it. Showing up at the second class session w
ith a beautiful new corset will undo most of your previous fitting work.
\n  \nMATERIALS: (Some of which are available from Lacis) \n\nBone cas
ing: 6 yards.  You can use seam binding\, Prussian tape\, ribbon\, bias t
 ape\, lining fabric\, etc.\nBoning: five yards artificial whalebone\, or y
ou can purchase metal boning at Lacis during class\nThread to match all fa
brics\nClosures as listed in pattern: buttons\, hooks/eyes\, hook and eye
 tape\, or eyelets for lacing\n2  yards ¾” – 1” petersham ribbon\nL
arge hook and eye to fit petersham (or two dress size hooks and eyes)\nAny
desired trimming\nOptional: 12 yards seam binding for Hong-Kong style sea
m finish\n\nTOOLS REQUIRED: \n\nSewing machine\, with power cord and foot
pedal\, plus bobbins and extra needles. Optional piping\, zipper\, shirrin
g and gathering attachments if needed.\nRuler (clear if possible)\nFabric
marking device /carbon paper and tracing wheel\nDressmaking pins\nPencil/p
 en\nMeasuring tape\nScissors: fabric\, paper\, thread snips\, and craft sc
issors if using German plastic boning.\nHand sewing needles\, plus beeswax
\, and thimble\, if desired\nChalk\, or fabric marking pen that shows on y
our lining fabric.\nAny other tools you find helpful: seam ripper\, highli
ghter\, French curve\, etc.\nOptional but strongly recommended: tracing pa
per for pattern pieces.\nOptional: Dressmaker’s carbon paper and tracing
  wheel\nOptional: Pleating board or tools\n\nOptional: Serger/overlocker

DESCRIPTION:The Inner and Outer Dimensions of an Ecological Civilization\n
with Jeremy Lent and Lisa Ferguson\nPart of the Engaged Nonduality Series
\nThis event builds on the release of Jeremy Lent’s book\, Ecocivilizati
on: Making a World That Works for All\, which envisions a world system tha
t sets the conditions for all to flourish on a regenerated earth. Jeremy a
nd Lisa will explore this vision from the depth of nondual understanding.
\nIf the root of our Metacrisis is separation\, then the nondual recogniti
on of non-separation is essential to responding skillfully. This is the de
eper basis for any lasting systemic change that may occur. \nIf you are fe
eling despair about our world\, one of the core tenets of Ecocilivation is
that there is an alternative. One not of empty hope\, but of grounded pos
sibility. One that welcomes our engagement\, unique gifts and contribution
 s. \nAbout the book: \nAs climate chaos\, inequality\, and social fragment
ation intensify\, humanity faces an imminent choice: continue with a syste
m built on extraction and endless growth\, or reimagine civilization itsel
f.\n\nJeremy Lent offers that reimagination: an ecocivilization\, groun
ded in proven design principles of ecosystems and in humankind’s evolved
inclination toward justice\, mutuality\, and dignity. \nOne of the things
we love about this vision is that it is not a blueprint handed down from
on high\, but rather an invitation to co-create\, making visible the visio
nary work already taking place around the world. \nThe session will includ
 e meditation\, a presentation by Jeremy\, Q&A\, group engagement and pract
ice. Jeremy will share about Ecocivilization\, and Jeremy and Lisa will bo
th explore the deeper roots of the inner dimensions through nondual unders
tanding\, which will invite us into a grounded expression of love that kno
ws no bounds. \nIt’s truly a joy to welcome Jeremy back to this series n
ot only as a brilliant thinker and writer\, but also as my life partner! W
e’re looking forward to weaving the inner and outer dimensions of civili
zation-level transformation for our troubled world\, informed by our deepe
st love and wisdom. \nYou may enjoy watching a video or two ahead of our s
ession to deepen your experience: Jeremy’s previous session in the Engag
ed Nonduality series or this video of Jeremy talking about Ecocivilization
. \nAbout the Engaged Nonduality Series \nThis Engaged Nonduality series\,
hosted by Lisa Ferguson\, explores how nondual wisdom may respond to our
world in crisis. We live in a time of multiple intersecting crises that th
reaten the wellbeing of all life\, including climate breakdown\, unaligned
tech and AI\, injustice\, war and authoritarianism. The recognition of no
nduality has much to offer in these times\, including a deep knowing of no
nseparation\, as well as access to the a wise and creative response emergi
ng from our collective wholeness. \nBIOS \nJeremy Lent\, described by Guar
dian journalist George Monbiot as “one of the greatest thinkers of our a
ge\,” is an author and speaker whose work investigates the underlying ca
uses of our civilization’s existential crisis\, and explores pathways to
ward a life-affirming future. \nHe is the author of Ecocivilization: Maki
ng a World That Works for All. His award-winning book\, The Patterning Ins
tinct: A Cultural History of Humanity’s Search for Meaning\, examines th
e way humans have made meaning from the cosmos from hunter-gatherer times
to the present day. His more recent award-winning The Web of Meaning: Int
egrating Science and Traditional Wisdom to Find Our Place in the Universe
offers a solid foundation for an integrative worldview that could lead hum
anity to a sustainable\, flourishing future. \nLent is the founder and hos
t of the Deep Transformation Network\, an online global community of over
5\,000 members exploring pathways toward a life-affirming future on a rege
nerated Earth. Lent has written extensively about the vision and specifics
of an ecological civilization\, and is a founding member of the Ecocivili
zation Coalition\, a worldwide alliance of changemakers coming together to
act as a transformation catalyst in service of this potential future. \nL
isa Ferguson\, Ph.D.\, integrates awakening\, healing\, and action in her
work on Engaged Nonduality: how our spiritual recognition is embodied in
response to planetary crises\, injustice and suffering. Through groups\,
1:1 sessions\, and public events\, she holds space for personal and collec
tive awakening and skillful action. \nLisa has worked closely with John Pr
endergast as a mentee and co-leader of Engaged Nonduality offerings\, and
has facilitated a meditative inquiry group for several years.\nBased on he
r experience as a change agent and organizer\, she founded Climate Compas
sion in 2015 to support the inner and outer work of responding to our pla
netary crises with wise action and a compassionate heart. \nSliding Scale:
$15 to $40\nNo one turned away for lack of funds.\nIf you can’t pay wit
hin the sliding scale\, contact us to let us know what you can contribute.

DESCRIPTION:Details and Registration:https://momence.com/l/x9hkbrbJFor thi
s month’s Chalice\, we are very happy to host Bob Jesse\, one of the mos
 t thoughtful\, sincere\, and ethical change-makers influencing the “psyc
hedelic renaissance.” In the early 1990s\, Jesse founded the Council on
Spiritual Practices\, which argued for the value of “primary religious e
xperiences” and advocated for psychedelic approaches for such experience
 s. Eventually\, Jesse helped support and guide the groundbreaking psilocyb
in research at Johns Hopkins\, as well as the center’s later studies of
psychedelic experience among religious professionals. More recently\, Jess
e served as a founding member of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of
Psychedelics. Tonight Jesse will deliver a short “statement of position
ality”\, after which we will plumb the current state of psychedelic spir
ituality\, science\, and commodification.  Bob Jesse was instrumental in
forming the psilocybin research team at Johns Hopkins\, and he has co-auth
ored several of its papers. He is also a founding member of the U.C. Berke
ley Center for the Science of Psychedelics. Earlier in life\, Bob trained
at Hopkins in electrical engineering and computer science\, consulted for
AT&T Bell Labs\, and worked at Oracle as a VP of business development. In
1993\, he founded the Council on Spiritual Practices. The Chalice is a recu
rring psychedelic salon held at the Berkeley Alembic the first Wednesday o
f every month. Instead of the mainstream focus on clinical trials\, legal
frameworks\, and psychotherapy\, the Chalice will draw from the deeper hum
 anistic wells of history\, poetry\, the gods\, ethnobotany\, humor\, and m
ystery. We are less interested in fetishizing psychedelic substances or ps
ychedelic experiences than in cultivating psychedelic culture and explorin
g what it means to be psychedelic people. This first half of this event wil
l be streamed online. The co-hosts for Chalice are Erik Davis\, author and
 Alembic co-founder\; Maria Mangini\, co-founder of the Women’s Visionary
Council and old-school head\; and Christian Greer\, currently a lecturer
on counterculture at Stanford University. The first half of each gathering
will feature a talk or special guest interview\; the second half of the e

DESCRIPTION:Progression of Teaching\nA weekend of teacher development\nOct
 ober 23 – 25\, 2026 in-person\nOur weekend together is your opportunity
to boost your teaching skills within a supportive community of colleagues.
Our focus will be on helping method. \nThis session of Progression of
Teaching will specifically focus on observation and correction skills suc
h as how to hone our powers of observation.  What to observe and how to i
nterpret what we observe?  And how to act based on what we observe?  For
Yoga Philosophy we will take a deep look at the kleshas\, how to work wit
h these afflictions in both our teaching and as Sadhakas. \nOver the three
days\, we will reflect on the balancing act required for effective teachi
ng.  Teaching Iyengar Yoga requires you to help individual students while
moving the entire classroom forward.  This requires knowledge of the asa
na you are teaching\, an easily accessible toolkit of modifications and co
rrections AND strong decision making skills regarding what you say and wha
t you don’t say. \nOver the three days\, you will consider your own exis
ting strengths and uncover the skills that are ready for maturation.  You
will get more experience in the well-timed application of instruction\, o
 bservation\, correction and demonstration. \n  \nThe schedule \nFriday: \
n8:30 – 11:30 am:  This includes a public class + time afterwards to di
scuss the experience including thought process and teaching skills \n1:30
 – 3:45 pm :  Teacher education \nSaturday: \n1 – 5:30 pm:  Teacher E
 ducation \nSunday: \n8:30 – 11:15 am: This includes a public class + de-
brief of the thought process and teaching skills \n1:15 – 4:15 pm:  Tea
cher Education \nYou will receive an optional homework assignment.  This
type of svadhaya is a central part of the Progression of Teaching weekend
because it creates an auspicious beginning for the program\,  gives you a
n opportunity to reflect on what you already know while developing new kno
wledge\, and gives you time to connect with Heather.  Please register by
September so you are able to complete the assignment. \nProgression of Tea
ching is open to anyone who is trained as an Iyengar Yoga teacher. \nTUITI
ON\nRegular rate: $274 per person \nScholarships are available\; email inf
 o@adelineyoga.com for details. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n\nMore about Progression of Teaching:\n  \n“It is the duty of the t
eacher to know what to teach\,\nwhy to teach and how much to teach.” –
BKS Iyengar\nProgression of Teaching is a cornerstone of our teacher supp
ort\, offering an opportunity for you to develop your personal sadhana and
teaching skills. Our weekend gathers are forum from which to build enduri
ng relationships with peers and teachers. \nThis program is open to anyone
who is trained as an Iyengar Yoga teacher. We offer support in your sadha
na\, in teaching and career exploration\, gathering twice a year. \nTeachi
ng yoga in an effective way is a very complex endeavor.  It can be so dif
ficult to know what to teach\, why to teach and how much to teach whether
you are teaching online\, in-person or hybrid\, with masks and without mas
ks\, across diverse venues including public classes in a studio\, private
lessons at home\, corporate venues\, college campuses and in community cen
ters.  Our students have a huge diversity of urgent needs and interests.
That is why our time to come together is so valuable.  It is a time to
be with your friends and colleagues and to learn from each other. \n \nDu
ring our time together you will: \n\nEnhance your understanding of poses f
rom Level 1 all the way to Level 3 syllabus.\nPractice teaching to build y
our skills and confidence working with a range of bodies and situations.\n
Develop confidence in sequencing these poses so that you can progress your
own practice.\nUse the teaching skills at your level to convey the essenc
e of Yoga.\nDive deeper into the source materials.\nGet feedback on your o
wn teaching.\n\nOptional homework is given prior to each meeting.  This i
s your way to study the syllabi in a focused way and get feedback on both
the required knowledge and theoretical aspects of Iyengar Yoga.  Doing th
e homework – and receiving personal feedback on it – is a central part
of every Progression of Teaching gather. \nWhat are the thorny poses you
want to look at? Doubts to discuss? Bring your questions. Participants wil
l get feedback on their teaching and gain confidence working with their st
udents in a variety of situations. \nPeople who are traveling from far dis
tances\, here is more information about our location and favorite places t
 o stay and eat. \n  \nREGISTER HERE \n  \nABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:\nHeather

DESCRIPTION:More information here: https://momence.com/l/x9h6e550Innovati
on is determined by our ability to think creatively\, what is often referr
ed to as thinking outside of the box. But what if our daily movement defin
es our capacity to expand our creativity? New biology\, quantum physics\,
molecular science\, mathematics\, deep psychology\, and indigenous wisdom
all recognize that human beings are not static objects animated by a spiri
t\, but expressions of living sacred processes. These perspectives contend
that a unified matrix of life\, not individual parts\, provides an in-dep
th understanding of being human. This bio-intelligence can be felt-sensed
through primal gestures.  Engaging with a living systems approach\, speci
fically our embryological story\, reveals that human beings at their very
core are fluid organisms (imagine a tadpole or caterpillar) that continual
ly reshape through invaginating and innovating flows of intelligence. Turn
ing our attention toward the somatic sensory system\, direct perception en
ables a conscious participation in a universal intelligence capable of dis
solving mind/body dualism and reductionist constructs. Our body is no long
er reduced to an “it”\; rather\, we are living beings embedded within
a larger field of dynamic relationships rich with innovative expression.Li
z will also be teaching a Saturday experiential. Tickets to the lecture an
d experiential are $175. you can find information here: Liz Koch is a conc
eptual artist exploring the deep sensory system and the bio-intelligence o
f our primal core as a means for developing human potential and igniting c

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Rosh Chodesh gatherings\, an opportuni
ty to come together and get rooted in our Jewish tradition and the natural
land cycles. Each session is crafted to correspond with the new Hebrew mo
nth\, with texts and colors that symbolize the essence of the time. \nOur
tradition suggests that each month holds a potential to work with differen
 t life issues—such as sleep\, anger\, eating\, sight\, and listening. We
will explore these themes through text learning\, creative writing\, sing
ing\, and sometimes working with flowers and Jewish traditional color theo
ry. \nOur sessions will be held when the moon is absent\, opening us up to
the possibilities of the new moon coming our way. Even when the world see
