DESCRIPTION:Nineteen years\, countless dumplings and more family-style fea
sts than anyone could possibly count: Myers + Chang is celebrating nearly
two decades of feeding Boston the best way it knows how – by bringing ba
ck some favorites from menus past. \nFrom Monday\, September 14th through
Sunday\, September 20th\, Joanne Chang‘s award-winning South End spot wi
ll turn back the clock with six crowd-pleasing throwback dishes including
Buckwheat Soba Noodles\, Red Curry Squash Soup\, Grilled Kalbi Short Rib\,
Panko-Crusted Lemon Chicken and Silky Spicy Tofu\, so gather some favorit
e people and come hungry enough to share. \nBe sure to save room for Pink
Birthday Cake\, which comes with its own Myers + Chang origin story. When
Christopher Myers and longtime friend Ashley Stanley requested a good old-
fashioned birthday cake\, Chang\, who’s also the acclaimed pastry chef\,
cookbook author and founder of Flour Bakery + Cafe) initially wondered ho
w to give it an Asian spin. Their answer? Don’t. Just make an excellent
chocolate cake with pink vanilla frosting and house-made sprinkles. \nTake
a look at the anniversary additions below and book a table during the bir
thday week to raise a fork to 19 years – and many more. \nBuckwheat Soba
  Noodles\nlemon-ginger dressing\, fresh tofu\, nori\nWe all crave this veg
an salad\, even our non-tofu lovers. It’s all in the dressing! \nRed Cur
ry Squash Soup\nginger\, coconut milk\, cilantro\nThe perfect balance of s
weetness\, spiciness\, and brightness all blended together in perfect harm
ony. \nGrilled Kalbi Short Rib\nkorean bbq\, yu choy\nAn iconic Korean BBQ
dish – sweet\, savory\, and perfectly caramelized. Wet naps provided! \
 nPanko-Crusted Lemon Chicken\ncandied-lemon sauce\, watercress salad\nThis
is inspired by one of Christopher’s favorite Chinese takeout dishes\, l
emon chicken. \nSilky Spicy Tofu\nkimchi + pork\n“I grew up eating tofu
at almost every meal\, and it’s my personal mission to convert tofu hate
rs into tofu lovers.” — Joanne Chang \nPink Birthday Cake\nchocolate c
 ake\, pink vanilla frosting\, house-made sprinkles\nOur dear friend Ashley
  Stanley\, long-time regular\, + Christopher always begged for a good old-
fashioned birthday cake. “How do I make chocolate cake with chocolate fr
osting Asian?” Joanne asked. He said\, “Easy\, you don’t. We’ll pu
t it on the menu for Ashley\, and it’ll be so good no one will question
 it.”
