 Lecture is part of the Fall 2026 Social Sciences Forum \nDelegate Lily Qi 
 will deliver remarks on the constitutional promise of representation and t
 he participation of immigrant communities in American democracy\, followed
  by a moderated discussion. \nDelegate Qi has represented District 15 in M
 ontgomery County since January 2019. She is the first Chinese-born legisla
 tor elected to the State House and chairs the Maryland Legislative Asian-A
 merican and Pacific-Islander Caucus. \nShe is the author of Elected Americ
 an: From Red China to Blue Maryland (Temple University Press\, 2026)\, a p
 olitical memoir and autobiography that explores her journey from Shanghai 
 to the Maryland House of Delegates. \n\nAdmission is free. \n\nThis event 
 is hosted by the Institute of Politics and is co-sponsored by the Asian S
 tudies Program\, the Department of Political Science\, the Center for Soci
