DESCRIPTION:Based on the bestselling book “At the Wolf’s Table” by I
talian author Rosella Postorino\, THE TASTERS follows a group of women who
were recruited by the SS in 1943 to make sure that the food being served
to Hitler was not poisoned. Forced to eat what might kill them\, the taste
rs start to split into two factions: those loyal to Hitler and those who i
nsist they aren’t Nazis\, even as they risk their lives everyday for the
Führer.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY WE LIKE THIS FILM: In 2012\, at the age
of 95\, shortly before her death\, a woman named Margot Wölk revealed tha
t she had been one of the young German women forced to taste Hitler’s me
als. No one had ever known about the existence of the food tasters. Margot
Wölk was the only one among them to survive the end of the war. Her stor
y inspired both the novel and the film. Although the Jewish content isn’
t immeidately obvious\, it becomes revealed towards the end of the movie.

DESCRIPTION:Are you shy\, introverted or socially anxious? All of the abov
e? No worries. At a campus as big as UT\, it can be difficult to be shy an
d make meaningful connections and friendships. At the Shy Longhorns Societ
y\, we come together to create a community built upon support and validati
on for the struggles of being socially anxious or shy at UT. We remind eac
h other that we are not alone and come up with ways to overcome our diffic
ulties together.\n\nNote: This is not a replacement for clinical mental he
alth services.\n\n \n\nSHARE Communities are weekly student-led groups whe
re peers with similar interests\, concerns\, or wellness goals can find co
mmunity and social connection that goes beyond surface-level. They are pla
ces to step away from the grind and let down the mask\, where mutual suppo
rt\, imperfection\, and “real” conversations are the expectation rathe
r than the exception. We aim to give fellow students a place to be themsel
ves and feel at home\, where their resources and inner wisdom can directly
benefit others going through similar struggles.\n\n \n\nINTEREST FORM:htt

nt may submit an interest form and attend ANY open SHARE Community at ANY
time of the semester. Submitting an interest form is not a commitment\, ju
