DESCRIPTION:Based on the bestselling book “At the Wolf’s Table” by I
talian author Rosella Postorino\, THE TASTERS follows a group of women who
were recruited by the SS in 1943 to make sure that the food being served
to Hitler was not poisoned. Forced to eat what might kill them\, the taste
rs start to split into two factions: those loyal to Hitler and those who i
nsist they aren’t Nazis\, even as they risk their lives everyday for the
Führer.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY WE LIKE THIS FILM: In 2012\, at the age
of 95\, shortly before her death\, a woman named Margot Wölk revealed tha
t she had been one of the young German women forced to taste Hitler’s me
als. No one had ever known about the existence of the food tasters. Margot
Wölk was the only one among them to survive the end of the war. Her stor
y inspired both the novel and the film. Although the Jewish content isn’
t immeidately obvious\, it becomes revealed towards the end of the movie.

ff who build\, process\, and care for these archives.\n\n \n\nThe display
shows how creators combine the structure of comics with the independent na
ture of handcrafted zines. Visitors will see how artists use these accessi
ble print formats to bypass censorship\, question mainstream media\, and a
ddress political and social issues.\n\n \n\nBy highlighting these graphic
narratives\, the exhibition showcases the incredible breadth of the Benson

DESCRIPTION:Join the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and
the Clements Center for National Security on Tuesday\, September 22\, for
“The Law of the Sea Treaty at Risk\,” with former Secretary of the Na
vy Donald Winter. The Law of the Sea Treaty was the product of the third U

tates participating. Currently\, however\, many states\, including the US
and Iran\, still have not ratified the treaty. Furthermore\, some states t
hat have ratified the treaty\, such as the PRC\, blatantly ignore treaty p
rovisions. At a time when maritime commerce represents over 80% of world t

  Ponce at ali.prince@austin.utexas.edu.\n\n \n\nBiography\n\nDr. Donald C.
Winter is an independent consultant supporting national and international
security interests in the US and allied nations. He served as the 74th Se
cretary of the Navy from January 2006 to March 2009. As Secretary of the N

role in 2024. Since 2011 he has served in multiple roles assisting the Co

at the University of Central Florida and a postdoctoral researcher at Arg

energy systems modeling and computation. His scholarly endeavors have garn
ered support from esteemed funding agencies at federal\, state\, and local
levels including the NSF CAREER Award in 2023 and Amazon Research Award i
n 2026. \n\n \n\nAbstract:Electric vehicles are emerging as grid resources
. The question is no longer simply whether an EV can send electricity back
to the grid\, but whether millions of privately owned\, constantly moving
batteries can provide reliable and fairly compensated services at scale.
Their value depends not only on battery capacity\, but also on when and wh
ere vehicles are connected\, how people travel\, and whether grid particip
ation can preserve mobility and individual choice. \n\nThis talk traces th
e path from everyday charging behavior to market-based vehicle-to-grid coo
rdination. Drawing on real-world charging and travel data\, it examines wh
en EV flexibility is available\, how it can function as “virtual batteri
es” and “virtual power lines\,” and how coordinated charging and dis
charging can reduce grid stress and support renewable energy integration.
Case studies from Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area illustrate the sc
ale of this resource. The talk then presents a modeling framework for dece
ntralized market coordination among EV owners\, charging providers\, and g
rid operators\, with incentives that reflect each vehicle’s time- and lo
 cation-specific availability\, reliability\, and mobility constraints.

DESCRIPTION:The Williamson County Executive Committee meets monthly to con
duct its business and develop initiatives to Keep Wilco Red.  \nOur Augus
t meeting will feature a presentation from Krista Schild\, Texas Director
for RAIR FOUNDATION. About Krista and the work of RAIR: \nRAIR Foundation
USA (Rise • Align • Ignite • Reclaim) is a grassroots activist and
investigative journalism organization made up of everyday Americans leadin
g a movement to reclaim our Republic from the network of individuals and o
rganizations waging war on our nation — on our Constitution\, our border
s\, and our Judeo-Christian values. \nRAIR is an integrated media platform
amplifying the voices of the silent majority\, while informing the citize
nry of the daily assaults on freedom and fostering grassroots leaders and
activists in order to combat the threats from Islamic supremacists\, radic
al leftists and their allies. \nUsing RAIR’s “Four Pillar” strategy
 of Education\, Community\, Action and Coalition\; RAIR’s grassroots-base
d approach empowers citizens to neutralize these attacks on their communit
ies. \nRAIR’s bottom-up approach to neutralizing the attacks on our libe
rties has the potential to shift the power back to the citizens. RAIR will
document the activities of key subversive players that currently enjoy li
ttle scrutiny in the current media landscape\, exposing their activities a
nd creating strategies to counter them. RAIR will unleash unprecedented ci
tizen activism and cultivate community leaders\, filling a gaping void in
the movement for liberty. \nKrista has represented both Denton County and
Hunt County at the Republican State Convention as a delegate. She also ser
ved as a Board member for Frisco Conservatives\, now Texas Conservatives\,
which provides both prayer and boots on the ground support for legislativ
e priorities at the Texas Capitol. Krista was also a candidate for Texas S
tate Representative for HD2\, in the special election in 2023.  \nKrista
has served in numerous roles to inform the truth about our liberties throu
gh Education on America’s Founding Principles and exposing the threats o
f Sharia and Marxist Organizations. She also speaks on how to build teams
at the local level to identify and target them. \nShe carries her life bas
ed on Judeo-Christian values and her God-given mandate to stand for the Co
nstitution and be a voice for the People. She has served as a Staff Pastor
\, as well as a Prayer Leader and Government Intercessory Alliance member.
She and her husband\, Jeff\, have been married for over 35 years\, and
have built successful construction contracting businesses. They are proud
parents of 3 grown sons\, all apprentice electricians.
