This federa l investment will be matched with $57.6 million in local and private funds . Administered by OneStar Foundation\, this investment will support 37 pro grams and engage 2\,775 AmeriCorps Volunteers\, who will serve more than 2 .9 million hours across the state in the year ahead. Through partnerships with nearly 700 schools\, clinics\, shelters\, local governments\, nonprof its\, and faith-based organizations\, AmeriCorps Volunteers will help meet urgent community needs while gaining hands-on experience\, developing pro fessional skills\, and exploring career pathways in high-impact fields. Am eriCorps is a powerful workforce engine for Texas. AmeriCorps Volunteers r eceive a living allowance\, health care\, and childcare during their servi ce. At the end of their term\, they earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Awar d—worth a combined $12.7 million statewide this year—to pay for colleg e\, pursue vocational training\, or to repay student loans.
