DESCRIPTION:Based on the bestselling book “At the Wolf’s Table” by I
talian author Rosella Postorino\, THE TASTERS follows a group of women who
were recruited by the SS in 1943 to make sure that the food being served
to Hitler was not poisoned. Forced to eat what might kill them\, the taste
rs start to split into two factions: those loyal to Hitler and those who i
nsist they aren’t Nazis\, even as they risk their lives everyday for the
Führer.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY WE LIKE THIS FILM: In 2012\, at the age
of 95\, shortly before her death\, a woman named Margot Wölk revealed tha
t she had been one of the young German women forced to taste Hitler’s me
als. No one had ever known about the existence of the food tasters. Margot
Wölk was the only one among them to survive the end of the war. Her stor
y inspired both the novel and the film. Although the Jewish content isn’
t immeidately obvious\, it becomes revealed towards the end of the movie.

ough the loneliness and self-judgment that often accompany tough times. We
'll use low-effort activities like journaling and doodling to explore our
emotions as we engage in discussion\, anonymous advice sessions\, and more
. At your own pace\, join us in opening up without filters and connecting
over shared struggles. No formal diagnosis required.\n\nNote: This is not
a replacement for clinical mental health services.\n\n \n\nSHARE Communiti
es are weekly student-led groups where peers with similar interests\, conc
erns\, or wellness goals can find community and social connection that goe
s beyond surface-level. They are places to step away from the grind and le
t down the mask\, where mutual support\, imperfection\, and “real” con
versations are the expectation rather than the exception. We aim to give f
ellow students a place to be themselves and feel at home\, where their res
ources and inner wisdom can directly benefit others going through similar
 struggles.\n\n \n\nINTEREST FORM: https://utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV
_beBqFTdnJTXF0uq\n\n \n\nAny UT student may submit an interest form and at
tend ANY open SHARE Community at ANY time of the semester. Submitting an i
nterest form is not a commitment\, just an introduction to connect you wit
 h our peer facilitators!
