DESCRIPTION:You Are Not Alone: BUGS!\, curated by Charlotte Woolf\, is a g

rs\, and multidisciplinary artists. The exhibition reflects the interdisci

imeter College\, incorporating related programming in theater\, music\, an
d film centered around the theme of insects. \nThe title of the exhibition
\, You Are Not Alone: BUGS!\, is drawn from the popular meme honoring the
ecosystem’s smallest yet irreplaceable members. The exhibition features
artists working across mediums whose practices engage insects and their vi
tal role within ecological systems. Through themes of pollination\, decomp
osition\, labor\, and interdependence\, the show explores how insects shap
e the environments around us\, inviting both artists and viewers to reflec
t on the often-unseen networks sustained by these powerful creatures.

DESCRIPTION:REEL Art: installation Access Point – Work in Progress\nby A
dam Larsen in Collaboration with Sue Schroeder\nAccess Point is a feature
length immersive documentary work in progress that follows individuals wit
h disabilities as they navigate vast and varied natural landscapes. Throug
h intimate interviews and vivid on-the ground footage\, the film explores
often-overlooked barriers to outdoor accessibility—alongside powerful st
ories of resilience\, community\, and empowerment that emerge along the wa
y.\nThe development of the documentary began with a diverse group of parti
cipantsconnected to Bay Area disability organizations\, including Ala Cost
a Centers\, BORP Adaptive Sports and Recreation\, The Center for Independe
nt Living\, The Disability Cultural Center at UC Berkeley\, Friends of L
’Arche San Francisco Bay Area\, Creative Growth\, and NIAD Art Center. T
hese partnerships have provided invaluable insight\, ensuring the film aut
hentically reflects the lived experiences of people across a range of disa
bilities. By featuring participants who are Deaf\, hard of hearing\, blind
\, or who have mobility or cognitive disabilities\, Access Point highlight
s the many ways disability intersects with the natural world. It becomes n
ot just a story of overcoming obstacles\, but also one of the universal hu
man desire to engage with the outdoors—underscoring the transformative p
ower of nature for all. Partnerships and participation in Access Point\nar
e currently expanding\, broadening its reach beyond the Bay Area to commun
ities across the United States.\nAs participants explore outdoor spaces—
from hiking trails and national parks to beaches\, forests\, and rivers—
Access Point reveals the barriers people face\, including limited accessib
ility\, lack of resources\, and social or cultural exclusion. Each partici
pant brings a unique relationship to nature: some are seasoned explorers w
hose access has been constrained\, while others are encountering these lan
dscapes for the first time.\nThrough their experiences\, the film captures
the joy\, reflection\, and sense of empowerment that nature can inspire w
hen inequities in access are addressed. At its core\, Access Point is a st
ory about inclusion\, equity\, and the right to experience the outdoors. I
t asserts that access to nature is a fundamental right not a privilege—
and examines how inaccessible outdoor spaces intersect with broader societ
al inequities. By connecting the disability community with the environment
al movement\,the film emphasizes that inclusive outdoor spaces are essenti
al to a just and equitable society. It encourages a rethinking of how publ
ic spaces are designed and used\, fostering collaboration between environm
ental and disability advocates and sparking a broader conversation about a
ccess\, equity\, and belonging.\nUltimately\, Access Point invites viewers
to reflect on their own relationships to the natural world and to envisio
n a future where outdoor spaces are welcoming to everyone. Through compell
ing storytelling and the beauty of natural landscapes\, the documentary ad
vocates for a world in which nature is a shared space—accessible\, engag
 ing\, and inspiring for all.

DESCRIPTION:Parade is a powerful\, Tony Award-winning musical that explor
es love\, justice\, and the devastating consequences of prejudice in early
twentieth-century America. Set in 1913\, the story follows Leo Frank\, a
Brooklyn-born Jewish factory manager living in Georgia\, who is accused of
the murder of thirteen-year-old factory worker Mary Phagan. As the trial
unfolds amid rising public outrage\, sensationalized media coverage\, and
deep social divisions\, Leo finds himself condemned in the court of public
opinion long before the verdict is delivered. With a book by acclaimed p
laywright Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy) and a rousing\, colorful and ha
unting score by Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years\, Bridges of Madis
on County\, Songs For a New World)\, Parade follows Leo as he struggles to
navigate a hostile community and a justice system shaped by fear and poli
tical pressure. As the case intensifies\, his wife Lucille becomes his str
ongest advocate\, finding the courage to stand beside him and fight to cle
ar his name. Both intimate and epic in scope\, Parade combines soaring mu
sic with a deeply human story. The result is a haunting theatrical experie
nce that confronts one of the darkest corners in American history while il
luminating the endurance of love\, hope\, and conviction in the face of ov
erwhelming odds.  Do you have a group of 10+? Call the Box Office at 770

DESCRIPTION:Spalding Nix Fine Art is thrilled to present BECOMING\, a seri
es of four exhibitions by Khalilah Birdsong\, Gretchen Wagner\, Mary Robin
son and Angela Carter. Together\, the exhibitions explore transformation
 – how memory\, material\, color\, place and human connection shape what
we carry forward and what we become. Khalilah Birdsong’s “There but fo
r the Grace of You Go I” is a series of layered abstract paintings that
consider how memory\, grace and human connection shape our capacity for re
surgence\, inviting us to reflect on our responsibility to one another. Gr
etchen Wagner’s “Color Interaction VI” is part of an ongoing series
of printed\, stitched and folded mixed media works that investigates how c
olor responds when it is asked to occupy three-dimensional space. Mary Rob
inson’s “After Before” is a series of abstract works inspired by the
continual flux of life\, utilizing materials and remnants from past works
through the processes of painting\, printmaking and collage. Angela Carte
r’s “Indigo Sunshine” is a series of quilt-inspired mixed media work
s exploring memory\, place\, movement\, and the ways fragments of experien
ce can be transformed into something new and whole. \nOpening Reception: F

DESCRIPTION:Charis and the Georgia Center for the Book welcome Marlon Jame
s in conversation with Doug Jones for a celebration of The Disappearers. \
nThis is an in-person only event and registration is required. RSVP here.
This event takes place at the First Baptist Church of Decatur\, 308 Claire
mont Avenue Decatur\, GA 30030. Doors open at 6:30pm. Event begins promptl
y at 7:00pm. \nCharis and the Georgia Center for the Book welcome Marlon J
ames in conversation with Doug Jones for a celebration of The Disappearers
\, a propulsive novel about the murder of a gay man in 1980s Jamaica and i
ts tragic consequences. \nIn 1988\, eight men in Kingston\, Jamaica\, begi
n rehearsals for a play. The men are strangers to one another and each has
a different reason for being involved. But they all share one inescapable
truth: All of them are gay―a “battyman” in Jamaican argot―and all
of them must contend with the dangers that such a truth lays bare. \nOne
night a mob savagely attacks them\, killing one of the men. For the surviv
ors\, their recovery is as much emotional as it is physical. As their bodi
es heal\, each man grapples with the violence\, the hatred\, and the rage
that the attack made plain. Some try to ignore what the attack has unearth
ed\, while others double down on retribution. \nIn The Disappearers\, Marl
on James has written a riveting and deeply human story of men forced to ma
ke compromises to survive what the society they live in demands. It is bot
h a dramatic page-turner and an unflinching exploration of queer life in J
amaica during the 1980s and 1990s. \nAbout the author \nMarlon James is th

DESCRIPTION:With a savvy restaurant consultant and a waiter with dreams of
his own added to the mix – everything starts to ignite in flames in thi
s hilarious and insightful new play that explores what happens when art an
d money collide. \nAudiences will be up close to the action as the Woodsto
ck Stage is transformed into the intimate kitchen of a New York City resta
urant. SEARED is calling you into the kitchen to DISCOVER THE FIRE! \nHarr
y – a culinary genius with a flare for the dramatic – receives a posit
ive review in a food magazine for his signature scallops and his business
partner can see their restaurant finally making money. The catch – Harry
refuses to ever make the scallops again. \nSEARED is a play that asks que
stions we are all deeply familiar with – what happens when the things th
at feel so intimately personal and our own become something that belongs t
o everyone? It’s also a play where we explore – intimately- the world
of high-stakes cuisine\, and enter into the kitchen for a front-row look.
We here at Woodstock Arts are so excited to create a fully functional kitc
hen onstage for this show and cook a meal for the audience to see\, hear\,
and even smell! (We may not have enough portions for everyone to taste\,
 unfortunately).

DESCRIPTION:For 70 years\, Bradley Observatory has welcomed guests to our

month during the semester on a Friday evening at 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. The even

 Hodari-Sadiki Hubbard-James for a presentation entitled\, "Are We Alone? A
stronomy and Astrobiology in the ISLANDS Lab". The ISLANDS Lab (Interstell
ar Search for Life Around Nearby Dwarf Stars) at Agnes Scott has spent thr
ee years exploring that question from three directions. We survey hundreds
of nearby stars smaller and cooler than the Sun\, seeking the calm\, stab
le ones where a planet could retain its atmosphere. We grow plants in the
lab under simulated starlight to test how photosynthesis functions when th
e star is NOT the Sun. We are also re-examining the 1977 Wow! Signal\, whi
ch remains the most powerful unexplained candidate for an extraterrestrial
radio transmission ever detected. Dr. Hodari-Sadiki Hubbard-James will wa
lk through all three\, including the work Agnes Scott students have contri
