on\, or financial aid\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunity
yoga.org  \n  \nBring two tennis balls and a large sock to hold the tenn
is balls to the workshop.\n \nTennis ball therapy uses tennis balls to rel
ease movement restrictions\, restore mobility\, and reduce pain by targeti
ng the connective tissue network\, rather than muscles alone\, making it a
n affordable and effective tool for muscle care. \nKey benefits include: -
Pain relief as pressure from the tennis ball stimulates the release of end
orphins\, the body’s natural painkillers\, which help block pain signals
-Improved flexibility\, by reducing muscle tightness promoting a better r
ange of motion-Enhanced circulation through stimulating blood flow\, bring
ing more oxygen and nutrients to the targeted muscles. This improved circu
lation aids in the removal of metabolic waste products\, reducing inflamma
tion and promoting faster muscle recovery-Muscle relaxation & Reduces stre
ss: The gentle pressure and stimulation of the skin promote relaxation and
reduce stress levels\, contributing to overall well-being. \nSelf-massage
with tennis balls is greatly enhanced by stretching\, which further incre
ases circulation and re-educates the muscles to rest for a longer length.
Stretching allows muscles to be softer\, more fluid and longer in their re
sting state. Combining asana with self-massage is particularly useful for
those of us who have muscles that for various reasons (injury\, overuse\,
or years of inactivity) resist stretching. \nIn this workshop\, we will us
e tennis ball therapy to unlock the feet and gluteals\, lengthen the hamst
rings and adductors\, open and relax the shoulders\, arms hands and neck t
o the muscles along the spine which will restore balance to the body and t
he mind through the action of prana. We will begin at the bottom of the bo
dy and work our way up to the head and then finish our time together in a
relaxing 10 minute savasana. This practice is safe for all age levels and
abilities. \nAn e-workbook with the exercises we will be doing will be pro
vided prior to the workshop. Bring two tennis balls and a sock to hold the
tennis balls to the workshop. 5 CEU’s will be offered to yoga teachers
and qualifying health practitioners. \n \nDiane Saccone\, MS MT (ASACP) ER

ing. They provide settings where individuals can step away from daily dema

and personal discovery. Art has the power to help people process emotions\
, spark meaningful conversations\, and connect across diverse perspectives
and lived experiences. \nBy integrating mindfulness\, movement\, creative
expression\, and music into the museum experience\, Wellness Day expands
the role of the Asheville Art Museum as a community resource dedicated not
only to the appreciation of art but also to the holistic well-being of th
ose it serves. The program demonstrates that museums can be active partner

 yoga.org  \n \nA 90-minute experiential workshop using rhythm\, mindfulne
ss\, and play to cultivate presence\, connection\, and emotional well-bein
 g. \n \nIn a world that moves fast and demands constant attention\, many o
f us lose touch with our natural rhythm. We spend our days thinking\, doin
g\, and reacting\, often leaving little space to simply be. Rhythm offers
another way. \nAcross cultures and throughout history\, rhythm has brought
people together. More than music\, rhythm is a shared human experience th
at invites us to listen\, respond\, adapt\, and connect.  \nHuman beings
are naturally wired for presence\, connection\, creativity\, and play. Yet
the pace of modern life often pulls us away from these qualities\, leavin
 g us feeling rushed\, disconnected\, or overwhelmed.   \nThis 90-minute h
ands-on workshop invites you to slow down\, reconnect with your body\, and
discover how tuning into musical rhythms naturally creates the conditions
for your nervous system to settle. As we slow down together\, many of the
qualities that are naturally part of being human—presence\, connection\
, curiosity\, and joy—begin to emerge. Come as you are. Leave feeling mo
re grounded\, more connected\, and more in rhythm with yourself. \nThis wo
rkshop is designed to be welcoming\, accessible\, and engaging for everyon
 e. No musical experience is necessary. **All instruments are provided.** A
nticipate a variety of hand drums (djembes\, ashikos\, tubanos\, frame dru
ms) and shakers. \nWhat to Expect \nThis is a hands-on\, experiential wor
kshop where everyone participates. Together we will explore: * Simple rhyt
hm instruction that makes participation easy for everyone * Progressive rh
ythm experiences that cultivate focus\, presence\, and regulation * Mindfu
lness practices that deepen awareness and embodiment * Grounding exercises
that support nervous system regulation * Playful rhythm games that encour
age laughter\, curiosity\, and authentic connection * Moments of reflectio
n to help integrate the experience into everyday life \n \nThis isn’t a
bout musical ability or performance. It’s about being present\, connecti
ng with others\, and discovering what becomes possible when we slow down t
 ogether.\n \n What You’ll Experience \nParticipants often leave with: *
A calmer\, more settled nervous system * Greater presence and mindfulness
  * A deeper sense of connection with yourself and others * The freedom and
joy that come from play * Increased confidence in your body’s natural c
apacity to regulate and restore balance * Practical experiences you can dr
aw upon when life feels overwhelming \nWho This Is For \nThis workshop i
s for anyone who wants to: * Slow down and experience greater ease * Feel
more grounded and present * Reduce stress and mental busyness * Connect wi
th others in a fun\, supportive environment * Experience mindfulness throu
gh movement\, rhythm\, and play \nNo musical background or drumming exper

DESCRIPTION:Please note: This date refers to the first of 6 sessions. This
course will occur over 6 consecutive Mondays from October 5th through Nove
 mber 9th from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Should you need to miss a session\, i
t will be recorded and accessible for 2 months. \nFrailty Syndrome is a te
rm used to describe a body-wide set of interconnected issues including mus
culoskeletal\, cardiovascular\, metabolic and immunologic systems. This gr
oup of symptoms is related to the decline of health as we age either as a
result of habit\, chronic disease or a combination of both. As we move les
s\, muscular weakness and atrophy set in\, which cascades to the nervous s
ystem\, causing the nervous system not to fire as efficiently because of t
he lack of muscles to stimulate into action. \nPoor habits\, social isolat
ion and lifestyle contribute to accelerated aging as well as stress and a
negative attitude on life. This series will incorporate yoga techniques an
d strength training to combat common results of Frailty Syndrome\, like Sa
rcopenia and Osteoporosis. \nSarcopenia- The loss of muscle mass\, where t
he muscles that die and are replaced by fat\, begins around the age of 30
along with loss of bone mineral density at the rate of 1% per year. \nOst
eoporosis-The risk of bone fracture- increases due to the increasing loss
of bone mineral density as we move past the age of 30.  \nYou will also l
earn how our sensory faculties work in concert to create efficient neuromu
scular movement\, sensorimotor integration\, and musculoskeletal activatio
 n. We will examine how the brain integrates and processes information and
input from the visual\, sensory\, and vestibular systems and how yoga and
functional fitness can help us enhance neuromuscular integration to mainta
in stability and mobility throughout our lives. \nAdditional skills we wi

DESCRIPTION:Please create a Mindbody account for each participant if regis
tering more than 1 person. If you have any questions regarding registratio
 n\, please email Kelsey at  kelsey@ashevillecommunityyoga.org \n \nRecent
studies in neurobiology reveal how yoga can influence the creation\, stre
ngthening\, and changing of the brain’s neural pathways. In yoga\, our u
nconscious habit patterns are known as Samskaras. Yogis and modern science
have found that when these habit patterns are repeated\, the brain’s sy
naptic connections strengthen and speed up. When these patterns are strong
enough\, they run as automatic habits or our personal identity rather tha
n conscious choices. Both yoga and modern neuroscience agree that these pa
tterns can be changed. \nThis workshop offers a diverse toolkit of yoga pr
actices: pranayama (breath control)\, asana (physical postures)\, kriya (a
cleansing or energizing technique)\, mudra (hand gesture)\, Vairagya (non
-attachment)\, Tapas (disciplined effort)\, and Drishti (focal point). The
se traditional techniques are informed by modern neurobiology research for
their efficacy in rewiring unconscious and unhealthy patterns. \nWhat You
Will Learn:– What samskaras are in yogic philosophy\, and how they rela
te to the neuroscience of conditioned neural pathways.– The basics of ne
uroplasticity\, how the brain is thought to form\, strengthen\, and reshap
e neural connections.– How breath practices\, mudras and Drishti (focal
point) can each be used to down-regulate the nervous system.– How to use
sustained isometric asana holds as engineered mastery experiences.– How
Vairagya\, the practice of non-attachment\, can help dissolve an old patt
ern and make room for a new one.– How to use Tapas\, disciplined effort\
, to strengthen a new synaptic pathway.– The importance of the neuroplas
tic pause\, the brief gap between a trigger and your habitual reaction.–
How to strengthen your Interoception\, the ability to feel what’s happe
ning inside the body. \nTimothy teaches a donation-based weekly Vinyasa Fl
ow on Sundays from 10:30am-11:30am. For more information on Timothy\, plea

DESCRIPTION:Boundaries are an essential component of building safety\, cla
rity\, respect\, and love in all relationships—including your relationsh
ip with yourself. And yet\, so often\, we struggle. \nFrom a somatic persp
 ective\, difficulty implementing\, adhering to\, or receiving boundaries i
s not a character flaw. It is not the result of lack of willpower or knowl
edge about why boundaries are important. It is the result of a nervous sys
tem that is doing what it thinks it needs to do to keep you safe.  \nBein
g able to assert healthy boundaries in your life is as much about clarity
around your needs as it is about capacity in your nervous system—to hold
discomfort\, to disappoint someone\, to believe your needs are valid. \nT
his workshop will include lecture\, journaling\, group discussion\, and so
matic activities to explore boundaries in a multifaceted and impactful way
. \nThrough this workshop\, you will: \n✨ Do a deep dive into boundaries
: different types\, what function they serve in relationships\, and how to
handle the reactions they elicit \n✨ Learn about boundaries from a soma
tic (nervous system) perspective \n✨ Reflect on your personal relationsh
ip with boundaries: how they have been modeled to you\, how your body resp
onds to them\, and how you assert them in your own life \n✨ Gain clarity
around your true needs and wants\, and the ‘why’ behind your boundary
patterns \n✨ Practice somatic exercises to help your system grow its ca
pacity to hold boundaries (both implementing and receiving them) \n✨ Lea
rn practical tools to create firm and loving boundaries in your life \n \n
If you struggle with asserting boundaries\, receiving boundaries\, or havi
ng your boundaries crossed\, you are not alone. Join this workshop to expl
ore this essential and tender topic in respectful\, compassionate communit
y\, where we will get at the root of boundary issues (the nervous system!)
and learn and grow together. \nThis workshop is facilitated by somatic em
otional health coach and educator\, Meredith Rosenbluth. Offering 1:1 coac
hing\, breathwork\, and group programs\, Meredith is devoted to cultivatin
g attuned\, grounded\, vulnerable\, and joyful spaces to foster meaningful
connection and personal transformation. All of you is welcome\, exactly a
s you are in any given moment\, always. You can learn more about Meredith
’s private practice here. \nA testimonial from Meredith’s February 202
6 workshop\, The Somatics of Trauma: “Meredith really made this class so
amazing. I did not know exactly what to expect going in\, but the amount
of information that was given was so digestible. Meredith presented it in
a way that was easy to understand and apply to my own life. I really enjoy
ed that she presented agreements at the beginning of the class that set th
e tone for listening and sharing so that everyone felt comfortable. I left
the class feeling like I could move forward with a new confidence in myse
lf and in my body.” \nFor more information on Meredith\, please see her

 yoga.org  \n  \nHigh sensitivity is a real thing. It’s not you being
“too much\,” overly emotional\, or unnecessarily dramatic\; it is a ne
urobiological trait that exists within 15-20% of the total population! We
just aren’t taught about it\, and don’t live in a world set up to supp
ort those of us who experience the world this way. \nHigh sensitivity sho
ws up through multiple pathways: depth of feeling\, complex mental process
ing\, sensory sensitivity\, and more. Do you know that you’re a highly s
ensitive person? Aren’t sure\, but think you might be? Know you aren’t
\, but have people in your life who are? Great! This workshop is for all o

DESCRIPTION:The Odyssey Home is a winter solstice workshop built around th
 e arc of Homer’s Odyssey — a hero’s journey through trial\, descent
into darkness\, and return to light\, mapped onto the body on the longest
night of the year. \nThe solstice marks the turning point where darkness
peaks and light begins its slow return. The Odyssey follows the same shape
: a hero who must sail through danger and descend into the underworld befo
re he can find his way home. \nThis workshop doesn’t move around the da
rk half of that story — it moves through it\, the way the poem does\, us
ing the practice to hold space for both the descent and the return. Studen
ts will be guided through six chapters of the myth\, each mapped to a diff
erent quality of movement: grounding and release with the Lotus-Eaters\, f
ocused strength facing the Cyclops\, instinct and transformation on Circe
’s island\, discernment between Scylla and Charybdis\, disciplined atten
tion resisting the Sirens\, and — at the heart of the workshop — a lon
g\, deep\, candlelit descent into the underworld itself\, before slowly ri
sing back into the light as Odysseus returns to Ithaca. \nThe workshop op
ens with a short telling of the myth’s arc and a ceremonial pour of blue
lotus tea\, echoing the moment in the story where the offer of the lotus
flower lets the outside world soften away. It closes with a slow return to
full light and a shared moment of reflection. \nThis is a workshop for a
nyone drawn to mythology\, ritual\, and the deeper turns of the year — n
o prior knowledge of the Odyssey is needed\, and no experience beyond a ge
neral comfort with a yoga practice. \n\nFor more information on Pashupa\,
