 addition to the world premiere of our new film\, Raising Cane\, The Cherok
 ee and Rivercane\, the program will feature Cherokee elders including Cher
 okee artisan extraordinaire\, Mary Thompson along with conservationists fr
 om throughout the region. The panel discussion following the film will inc
 lude Cherokee elders plus Adam Griffith\, Director of RTCAR (Revitalizatio
 n of Traditional Cherokee Artisan Resources)\, Torry Nergart of Conserving
  Carolina\, and land stewards from RiverLink. Members of the Southern Appa
 lachian Highland Conservancy along with the other conservation groups will
  have tables in the lobby to learn more about their work. \nFollowing the 
 program\, in the lobby we’ll be serenaded by the Apple County String Ban
 d as we enjoy locally baked good and drinks furnished by local stores whil

  inspirational life and artistic mastery of visionary artist Minnie Evans 
 through archived\nconversations with her friend Nina Howell Starr. \nAbout
  the filmmaker: \nLinda Royal (fka Linda Booker) directed\, produced\, and
  edited the film festival award-winning\ndocumentaries “STRAWS\,” with
  narration by Tim Robbins\, “Bringing It Home\,” and “Love Lived on 
 Death\nRow.” Her films have reached audiences worldwide through film fes
 tivals\, educational distribution\,\ncommunity screenings\, corporate offi
 ces\, and in-flight entertainment. She has partnered with numerous\norgani
 zations for grassroots advocacy and impact campaigns. Linda was the Direct
 or of Operations for\nthe Sonoma International Film Festival in 2015-2016.
  She started By the Brook Productions after receiving\na Certificate in Do
 cumentary Studies from Duke University in 2005. Before filmmaking\, Linda 
 was an Art\nDirector and graphic designer for numerous publications in Flo
