Susan Gaire came to ot her female weavers in Western North Carolina with an idea: Collaborate on a single image\, with each artist weaving her own personality into their p anel of the tapestry. This piece was designed in early 2025\, and weaving took place between October 2025 and March 2026. Weavers were given a gener al color palette\, size guidelines\, and the placement of the three ridgel ines that run continuously across the piece\, but otherwise had full creat ive freedom to decide materials\, technique and embellishment. The result is a nine-panel artwork that tells nine chapters of the same story.
