 nity mentors.\n“It’s my mission to keep these heritage crafts alive an

 Folk Art Center\nopened in 1980. \nIn addition\, two local storytellers wi
 ll amuse guests with cherished folklore and native traditions.\nAsh Woody\
 , of Swannanoa\, will perform Appalachian Jack Tales\, or stories involvin
 g a clever\nboy who employs his sharp wit to outsmart adversaries and othe
 r impossible predicaments. And\nDavy Arch\, a woodcarver\, historian\, and
  practitioner of traditional medicine\, will tell Cherokee\nstories and le

DESCRIPTION:This free celebration of mountain heritage features traditiona
 l crafts accompanied by music and dancing. On-going demonstrations will in
 clude traditional woodworking with traditional tools\, weaving\, spinning\
 , dyeing\, broom making\, stone carving\, and printmaking. Visitors will h
 ave the opportunity to try their hand at some of the crafts and an activit
 y table will encourage young people to create. A music stage will provide 
 further entertainment with bluegrass and gospel music. There is free parki
