DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\nOkay\, Asheville Transplants\, we’re
trying something new. ☺️\n\nForks & Friends is a monthly dinner club f
or people who want to get out\, try some of Asheville’s great restaurant
s\, meet new people\, and actually have enough time around the table to ge
t to know each other.\n\nNo giant crowd. No trying to have a conversation
 over 40 people. Just 8 to 12 people\, good food\, good conversation\, and
a different restaurant and cuisine to explore each month.\n\nAnd for our v
ery first dinner\, we’re kicking things off somewhere with a whole lot o
 f personality.\n\n🍴 Stoney Knob Café\n📅 Tuesday\, September 15\n
 🕖 7:00 PM\n📍 337 Merrimon Ave\, Weaverville\, NC\n👥 Limited to 12
people\n\nStoney Knob has been around since 1962\, and calling it eclecti
 c is almost an understatement. It’s colorful\, quirky\, artistic\, a lit
tle theatrical\, and very Asheville. The menu wanders all over the map too
 \, with Mediterranean\, Greek\, American\, Asian\, European and Southern i
nfluences\, which makes it a pretty perfect place to launch a dinner club
built around trying different things.\n\nThe idea behind Forks & Friends i
s simple. Each month we’ll pick a different restaurant around Asheville\
 , sometimes familiar\, sometimes a little unexpected\, and gather around o
ne table for dinner.\n\nWhether you love discovering new restaurants\, you
’re still finding your people here\, you want to make a few new friends\
, or you simply think dinner with interesting humans beats eating it on yo
ur couch\, this is your kind of night. 😂\n\nSince this one is intention
ally small and we only have 12 seats\, please RSVP only if you genuinely p
lan to come. If something changes\, just update your RSVP so someone else
can grab your seat.\n\nFirst dinner with Forks & Friends.\nLet’s eat.

DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\n**Grab the mic (or just cheer) — kara
oke night in East Asheville.**\n\nThe Social on Tunnel Road runs karaoke e
very Saturday night\, and we're claiming a corner of the room for the Tran
splants crew. Sing\, heckle kindly\, or just sit back with a burger and a
drink and watch strangers become friends over a shared chorus. Zero singin
 g ability required — genuinely.\n\n**The Plan:**\n\n• 8:30 PM — Meet
at The Social (1078 Tunnel Rd). Look for the Asheville Transplants group
 — we'll grab a cluster of tables before the room fills up.\n\n• 8:30
–9:00 PM — Order food and drinks\, say hello\, and start scheming song
choices.\n\n• 9:00 PM — Karaoke kicks off. Put your name in whenever
 you're ready (or never — no pressure).\n\n• 11:30 PM — Official wrap
. Karaoke runs until 1:00 AM\, so stay as long as you like.\n\n**What to K
now:**\n\n• No cover charge for karaoke — everyone pays for their own
food and drinks.\n\n• The Social is a full bar and kitchen (burgers are
their thing)\, open until 2:00 AM on Saturdays. Come hungry.\n\n• Non-al
coholic options are available — feel free to grab a soda or not drink an
ything at all. No pressure either way.\n\n• Free on-site parking in the
lot\, so you're not hunting for street spots.\n\n• It's on Tunnel Road i
n East Asheville — about 10 minutes from downtown\, easy drive or ridesh
are.\n\n• Singing is completely optional. Some of us are here purely to
applaud.\n\n**Why This Event:**\n\nKaraoke is one of the fastest ways to s
kip past small talk — nothing bonds a table like collectively deciding s
omeone has to do "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Whether you just landed in

DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\nPine Tree Loop Hike + Taco Boy Lunch
 🌲🥾🌮\n\nSunday\, September 20th\n10:00 AM to 2:00 PM\n\nLet’s sp
end a Sunday morning outside\, get some fresh air\, move our bodies\, meet
some new people\, and then reward ourselves appropriately with tacos.
😄\n\nWe’ll meet at the Hard Times Trailhead off Wesley Branch Road an
d hike the Pine Tree Loop\, an easy and scenic 3.5-mile loop through Bent
Creek.\n\nThis is meant to be a fun\, social hike\, not a race to see who
can disappear into the forest first. We’ll keep a comfortable pace that
gives everyone plenty of time to talk\, laugh\, enjoy the scenery\, and ac
tually get to know the people you’re hiking with.\n\nThe route takes us
along Bent Creek\, through shaded forest\, open wildlife fields\, and wide
trails where we can walk side-by-side and mingle as we go. There is about
357 feet of elevation gain\, but it is gradual and considered an easy hik
e.\n\nExpect wide dirt and gravel trails\, some grassy sections\, lots of
 shade\, and a relaxed Sunday morning vibe.\n\n🥾 Hike Details\n\nDistanc
 e: Approximately 3.5 miles\nDifficulty: Easy\nElevation Gain: Approximatel
 y 357 feet\nTerrain: Dirt\, gravel\, wide grassy paths\, and gentle slopes
\nMeeting Location: Hard Times Trailhead\, Wesley Branch Road\nStart Time:
10:00 AM\n\nPlease wear comfortable hiking shoes\, bring water\, and dres
s for the weather.\n\n🌮 Then We Eat!\n\nAfter the hike\, anyone who wan
ts to keep the fun going can join us for lunch at Taco Boy in Biltmore Par
 k.\n\nTaco Boy\n2 Town Square Blvd #120\nAsheville\, NC\n\nWe should arriv
e around noon-ish\, depending on our hiking pace and how much talking we d
o along the way. And knowing this group\, there may be talking. 😂\n\nCo
me for the hike\, stay for the tacos\, or better yet\, do both.\n\nThis is
a great event if you’re looking to get outside without doing a strenuou
s mountain climb\, meet some new people\, reconnect with familiar faces\,
and spend a laid-back Sunday morning being social in one of Asheville’s
prettiest outdoor areas.\n\nSee you on the trail! 🌲🥾🌮

DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\n**Thirty minutes of beginner lessons\,
then the floor. Partners rotate\, so nobody ends up holding up a wall.**\n
\nLatin Night runs every Wednesday at One World Brewing West. The 8:30 les
son is genuinely for beginners and covers all Latin genres — salsa\, bac
hata\, merengue\, cumbia\, reggaeton. Because partners rotate through the
lesson\, the format physically will not let anyone get stranded on the sid
elines. If you have never danced anything in your life\, this is the easie
 st possible first time.\n\n**The Plan:**\n\n• 8:15 PM — Meet outside t
he front door on Haywood Rd. We walk in as a group\, so nobody has to ente
 r a full room alone.\n\n• 8:30 PM — Beginner lesson. All skill levels\
 , 30 minutes\, partners rotate throughout.\n\n• 9:00 PM — Open floor u
ntil close. Dance\, or don't — a good number of us end up at the side ta
 lking instead\, and that's fine.\n\n• 11:00 PM — Anyone heading out ar
ound this time walks to the parking together. Just say so.\n\n**What to Kn
ow:**\n\n• $10 cover at the door. That's the entire cost of the night.\n
\n• 16 spots. RSVP so whoever is hosting knows who to watch for outside
at 8:15.\n\n• No partner needed and no experience needed. Genuinely —
the lesson assumes you know nothing.\n\n• Wear something you can pivot i
 n. Sneakers are perfect. Flip-flops are not.\n\n• Full non-alcoholic men
u alongside the beer. Nobody needs a drink in their hand to be here.\n\n
 • Free street parking along Haywood Rd. 520 Haywood Rd\, West Asheville
 — nowhere near downtown parking.\n\n• Be decent. Anyone who makes some
one uncomfortable will be asked to leave\, and the organizer handles that
 — not the person on the receiving end.\n\n**Why This Event:**\n\nBeing b
ad at something new next to strangers is a shortcut straight past small ta
lk. Nobody is good at bachata on their first Wednesday\, and that shared i
ncompetence is the whole social technology. It also starts late on purpose
  — this is a proper night out\, not a coffee.\n\nCome solo — most of u
 s do.

DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\n**Coming alone? Good — that is the id
eal way to do this one. Nobody needs to bring a friend. You show up by you
rself\, we put you on a team of four\, and you spend the afternoon with th
 em.**\n\n**You get a phone\, a team of four\, and 75 minutes on Haywood Ro
ad.**\n\nThis is a photo challenge\, not a walking tour. Each team gets a
card with a dozen very specific\, slightly ridiculous challenges scattered
up and down Haywood Road in West Asheville — track down a certain pair
of country-and-drag icons painted on the side of a salon\, get a staff rec
ommendation at a record store\, talk your team into the strangest group ph
oto you can manage. Points for each one. Bonus points for style.\n\nTeams
are drawn at the start\, so you will be paired with people you have not me
 t. That is the entire point. It is much easier to talk to strangers when t
he four of you are trying to find a mural. Most people here will not know
anyone either — that is true of nearly every Transplants event.\n\nThen
we come back to Archetype West\, score everything out loud\, and hand out
 some entirely unserious prizes.\n\n**The Plan:**\n\n• 2:00 PM — Meet a
t Archetype Brewing West\, 265 Haywood Rd. Grab a drink\, get sorted into
teams of four\, pick up your challenge card.\n\n• 2:30 PM — Teams head
out on foot. The play zone runs along Haywood Road between Archetype and
 Firestorm Books — a little under a mile each way.\n\n• 3:45 PM — Bac
 k at Archetype. Teams turn in their photos.\n\n• 4:00 PM — Scoring\, p
rizes\, and food. Gan Shan West's kitchen opens at 4:00\, so this is the e
ating part of the afternoon.\n\n• 5:00 PM — Official wrap. Stay as lon
g as you like.\n\n**What to Know:**\n\n• Solo is the default. Teams are
assigned on arrival\, so you will never be standing around trying to join
a group. If you do bring a friend\, we will usually split you onto differe
nt teams — you will both meet more people that way.\n\n• If you are ru
nning late\, just text or comment and we will slot you into a team when yo
u get there.\n\n• Free. No ticket\, no buy-in. Food and drinks are pay-y
our-own\, and nothing on the challenge card requires spending money.\n\n
 • All you need is a phone with a working camera and shoes you can walk t
wo miles in.\n\n• Archetype has free on-site parking\, which is a real g
ift on Haywood Road on a Sunday.\n\n• Archetype does not have its own ki
tchen. You order from the neighbors around the shared courtyard — Gan Sh
an West opens at 4:00 PM\, and Pizza Mind and OWL Bakery are right there t
 oo.\n\n• There is a front patio\, a back patio\, and a rooftop\, so we w
ill have room to spread out. The brewery is dog-friendly\, though a 75-min
ute walk in the middle of the afternoon is not ideal for every dog.\n\n•
Haywood Road is being resurfaced through November. Crews work overnight r
ather than Sunday afternoons\, but you may hit a freshly paved stretch or
a crosswalk under construction — watch your step at intersections.\n\n
 • Rain plan: if it is genuinely pouring we will call it. A little drizzl
e and we go anyway.\n\n**Why This Event:**\n\nMost ways of meeting people
involve standing in a room holding a drink and hoping. This one hands you
a task and three teammates instead. You will finish the afternoon knowing
a stretch of your own city better than you did at lunch\, and you will hav
e actually talked to people — because you had to\, to find the mural.\n\
nNew to Asheville or ten years in\, knowing everyone or knowing nobody\, c
 ome play.

DESCRIPTION:Asheville Transplants\n**An easy loop through the garden\, the
n coffee. This one is meant to repeat — same day\, same time\, every oth
er Sunday.**\n\nNot a hike and not a workout. A flat\, unhurried walk thro
ugh the Asheville Botanical Garden's ten acres along Reed Creek\, followed
by coffee for whoever wants it. The walk is the excuse. The coffee afterw
ard is where the actual conversations happen.\n\nWe split into threes at t
he entrance and shuffle the groups partway around\, so you end up talking
properly with a few people rather than orbiting a crowd of twenty.\n\n**Th
e Plan:**\n\n• 2:00 PM — Meet at the Visitor Center just inside the en
trance on W.T. Weaver Blvd. Someone from the group stands out front until
2:10\, so there's a face to walk up to.\n\n• 2:10 PM — Split into thre
es and walk. Roughly a mile\, flat\, at whatever pace the slowest person i
n the group sets. Nobody gets dropped.\n\n• 3:00 PM — Coffee nearby on
Merrimon for anyone who's in. Come or don't\, no explanation needed.\n\n
 • 4:00 PM — Done\, with most of your Sunday still ahead of you.\n\n**W
hat to Know:**\n\n• Free. Admission and parking are both free — the ga
rden runs entirely on donations\, so bring a few dollars for the box if yo
 u can.\n\n• 18 spots\, so this stays a walk and not a parade.\n\n• Day
light\, on purpose. Sunset is around 7\, so we finish well before dark.\n\
n• Genuinely easy. If you can walk a mile you can do this. No gear\, no
pace\, no fitness level required.\n\n• Coffee is optional and you buy yo
ur own.\n\n• Mid-October is peak color along Reed Creek\, which is a goo
d reason to make this the first one.\n\n• No pitching\, no recruiting\,
no selling anything to the group.\n\n**Why This Event:**\n\nWalking side b
y side is the lowest-pressure way there is to talk to someone you just met
  — no eye contact required\, and there's always something to point at. T
his runs every other Sunday\, and that part is deliberate: the same faces
turning up repeatedly is what turns a meetup into people you actually know
. One walk won't do it. Six will.\n\nCome solo — most of us do.
